I am an economically-conscious millennial who lost $50 at the Ameristar casino. I desperately needed a palette cleanser from the loss and the morbid gamblers that gave the casino a depressing Newport-stenched, humid and feverish ambiance. Gamble somewhere else folks.
Giordano's was my deus ex machina. My mood skyrocketed with the great service of Lalo and the warm welcome of the young lady at the counter.
After 40 minutes of drinking the place in with my godfather being a superb conversationalist, the 40-45 minutes wait for a deep dish seemed like a time dilation.
Sitting next to a screeching infant reminded me of the church I used to go to. Yet, the interior design diluted the child's screeches like how a tree dilutes noise pollution and sunlight to keep neighborhood quiet and cool.
As a realist, I will mention that the majority of the customers were African American. My godfather and I never have a problem with that. How you utilize this information that I'm affording you in this review is up to you.
Our awesome server, Lalo, and the other servers looked professional. The chef who put the deep dish on my plate looked passionate and tasteful. In fact, all the staff looked better than 100% of the waiters in my town.
I mention this because my gourmand-self noticed the mien of who delivers my food affects how I'll taste and remember it. If a woman who stenches of Newport gave me my food, I would lose my appetite. The chef's mien hit it home for me.
I can sense that this man put his metaphorical humors (blood, sweat, and tears) into the dish that he graciously put on our plates.
After stuffing ourselves like a turducken, I did something I seldom do. Tip. I loved Lalo's service that I gave him the maximum 25% on the receipt and I do not regret it. I hope to be served by Lalo again the next time I...
Read moreUpdate: After sending my comments directly to the restaurant management team, I received an email from Debbie Schneider offering to speak over the phone regarding the incident. When we spoke, she was very nice and apologized for what happened at the Beverly location. Even though this isn't her primary location, my interaction with her alone made me change my review from 1 star to 3. Thank you Debbie; I truly appreciate you not just sending an email offering compensation for the inconvenience, but actually taking the time to have a conversation with me to try and understand my frustration with the situation. Your Beverly team should take notes from you.
I placed an online order 12/1 @ 9:08pm and was sent an email confirmation that my order was placed and that it would be ready between 10:03-10:13pm. I arrived at the restaurant at approximately 10:15 and was told that they didn't have my order. When the cashier began writing my order number down to try and look into the situation, the other cashier told her that another team member mentioned that "if the order wasn't in the hot box at the front then they don't have it". I wasn't given an apology; I was simply asked if I wanted to place an order. Needless to say, I declined and walked out. It would have been nice to have received some sort of apology or something to attempt to rectify the situation, as I had two children with me that were pretty hungry and we were celebrating an 11th birthday. I will be reaching out to the restaurant tomorrow regarding this, as this was completely...
Read moreI had really high expectations being that this was a Giordano's, but was disappointed. My food was delivered late. The Calamari and More was cold, which of course eliminated the crispiness. In addition, I chose the option of having no peppers (can't eat them) but sure enough they were in there all over the place. I liked that it had both rings and tentacles but the "more" part was just plain bad. Aside form having deep fried and soggy peppers the fried green beans were also super soggy to the point of being floppy and limp. To add insult to injury I had to salt the dish as well. I also had an Italiano Salad. The greens were fresh and crisp there was a good portion of meats and cheeses. However for an Italian restaurant, I expected a higher grade of olive and olive oil. Olives change based on who's doing the brining and what country it happens in, plus these were pitted which always seems to be a bit off to me. The olive oil in my dressing though.... epic fail either it was going rancid or just plain funky. Last issue with the salad was that I could taste that the peppers had been all over that salad. I thank whoever took the time to pick them all off before delivering it to me but you left the nasty juice behind. After my asthma started acting up because well the salad wasn't supposed to have peppers I went ahead and threw most of it into the garbage disposal. If I give this restaurant another try I'll stick to pizza since it is a pizza joint. A trip to the hospital just isn't worth the effort of the rest...
