We didn't feel much of the welcome there. We told our server we were waiting for one more person. But yet she still circle back within 5 minutes when my friend still not there. I ordered a drink anyway. I used to be a server so I understand she probably bored out of her mind and had nothing better to do than taking care of customers. But coming back every 5 mins was a bit much. My another friend ordered a drink. Then that's it. 1 person has show. It was only 10 to 15 mins, and we felt obligated to had to order something even tho I told her multiple times we are waiting for 1 more person.
It was really not busy at all. Customers at the bar but none of them at the table. My friend came in. Put down her phone, went to the restroom. Once my friend came back, the server was already there. Asked if she wants to order something. Geez, give u a coupl of minutes to breathe, maybe.
It was 7 inning at that point. I would understand more if it towards 8 or 9th inni, g a the d servewantednt to make sure she got everything alcovereder before the pool of more people from the game coming in. But no. The space was empty.
Server came to check on us wayyyy too many times. I felt pressure. And my friend was like, did she wanted us to order more or what she want? Why she come so often?
By the time Cubs game was over, the restaurant had probably 4 more tables max. She came and asked if we want anything else. We said we were good. She then gave us a check almost right away.
We all look at each other, we were debating whether we should head out and find another bar or we should order one more round after this. Mind you, it's only 11pm. We were good (for now) and we didn't ask for check. There were not busy. There was literally nothing to rush. But we didn't feel like they want us to be there. So we paid and left for another place.
Summary, if you want to go drink (slow) and have good conversation with your friends, this is not a place to be.
We got in at 9.29 we left at 10.47 according to our bill. Maybe we were drinking to slow for her liking and want to turn table for a higher bill customers but lady, you have a whole place, tables were empty. Why would...
Read moreFirst, I want to say that the service was excellent and very accommodating of our large group. This place has a nice big bar, a solid tap list, shuffleboard, darts, and a pool table. You could definitely have fun getting a few drinks and spending an afternoon watching the game here.
Now, I hate leaving negative reviews of any sort, BUT, if you’re going there, you must know this: the pizza is terrible. Not terrible in a crumby, fast food-y kind of way—that really wouldn’t bare mentioning in a review of a fun, new bar. No, this pizza is bad in strange and fascinating ways that we never could have anticipated.
The first thing you’ll notice is that they’re trying to do some sort of cheese blend, and the result is this velveeta-esque gloop that burns in some places and slides off the pizza on others. The crust has the consistency of stale Wheat Thins and is much thicker than you’d want it to be, particularly around the edge. The sauce is sweet enough to make your teeth grit, and the way it runs together with the cheese gloop creates a truly unique texture that I’ve never encountered in pizza before. Our table was honestly mystified—what happened here? We had ordered two pizzas and the only reason we ate more than a slice of each was out of pure morbid curiosity.
The burger is good (although you have to order fries separately—come on, don’t do that…). The buffalo cauliflower was soggy (despite us asking for it to be done extra crispy). None of it would be worth reviewing, though, if not for that truly bizarre pizza. Everyone at our table, to a person, would warn you to stay away from it until they reconsider the recipe.
Anyway, apologies, this is a fun, new place and we hope they’re successful. We just felt we had to give a little warning. This is the best pizza city in the world—no need to...
Read moreAlways have been rooting for this bar and the growth it’s gotten over the past few years. I was happy to see it was a packed house for once.
After ordering a few rounds of drinks– our group was approached by staff that we were being rude and to stop starting fights (we haven’t spoken to anyone else aside our group). The employee was very angry, red in the face yelling, and gave us no room to talk. We never started a fight.
We were then approached by a lady who was (again) instigating us. She kept saying we were talking badly about the owner–who by the way, a few of us have met on the slower days when we’ve come in for food/drinks. I kindly told the woman this wasn’t true– Extremely unclear what information was being received. We never wanted an issue and enjoy being at this bar. We talked to the bouncer after the lady tried kicking us out without any credibility.
No matter what, this left a bad taste in our mouth, especially mine. I work in the food industry and being hospitable is my priority. I’m disgusted I spent 100s of dollars at this establishment all to be treated like this in a heartbeat with no reasoning. I wish this place the best, but you’ll never get recurring guests if this is how you treat them. I have no loyalty to an establishment that doesn’t make their guests feel comfortable.
I understand if it’s busy, things can get tough. But to yell at my friend group about things that were never true, is not okay. Wish this...
