I went into Wrigleyville dogs today, Friday December 10, at about 1 o'clock, in a rare mood for a gyros. I have been here many times and always had a nice experience--till now. While I waited in line a young guy came in without a mask, not even below his nose or mouth--no mask at all. "Hey, where's your mask?" I said. "The pandemic is at an all-time high." "I don't have one," he said. "Don't need it." At that point I turned to the guys behind the counter, waiting for them to back me up. Guess again. "You mean you are actually going to wait on this guy?" They were. They were taking his order as I turned and walked out. I will NEVER go in there again. I hope they get shut down. Complete and total irresponsibility. I shot a video through the glass, which I will be posting on YouTube.
Response to owner: Your non-apology is wholly unsatisfactory, and did little but to rile me up again. Where is your outrage at your employees allowing customers to enter your tiny restaurant without a mask on when people are dropping like flies throughout the state? I know all about stress during this time. I work as a personal trainer at a gym where I have to deal with this constantly. If anyone steps through the door without a mask on, they are tossed out on their ear. But many pull it down once they are inside and must be approached. If yesterday was an "isolated incident", as you contend, it is only because 99% of us comply to the mandate as ordered by the mayor and governor. Obviously this is not enforced at your place of business. Advising me to use the "drive-up window" is a non-solution when your employees are still exposed to great risk by jerks. No, I do not want to see you go out of business--I retract that and apologize for it. Yes, everyone is hurting. All the more reason for the same among us to buckle down. Thank you. P.S. I do appreciate your responding so quickly. There is no reason to do so again. I like to feel I have...
Read moreI come to Wrigleyville Hotdogs because they are open late the hotdogs are good and the serving of fries is okay. I’ve been coming here for a while always spending more than $50.00. That being said today everything was going as usual until my son-in-law and I had a sip of the Coke. It was flat. When I went to let the guy at the register now he started complaining that he had served over 50 customers and non of them complained of the Coke. I told him I believed him but that was not the case with out drinks. He had an attitude instead of me being upset. He kept complaining about how no one complained. He finally asked what I wanted instead again with an attitude rolling his eyes and all. I told him that we would take a lemonade instead because why would I want another soda if it doesn’t taste right. He rolled his eyes. I did tell him if there was an up charge for changing it to a lemonade and he said no and continued to go on about how he had serve 50 clients without any complaints. The lemonade was any better but I honestly did not feel like going up and letting him know because I didn’t know if this would escalate or he would do anything to our meal since it was still not ready. Not sure if I’ll give this establishment...
Read moreAt night, Wrigleyville Dogs becomes a place like no other and convinces visitors with its marvelous powers. It works somewhat like a time machine, if anything like that may exist, and takes its customers straight to another period of existence. Time travel, for most serious scientists still something perceived as impossible, is becoming something I refer to as „imaginary reality“. Prerequisites for such time travel at Wrigleyville are simply the absence of natural light, darkness so to say, and the intoxication of one‘s body (ethanol recommended to those aged 21 or older). Once those two conditions are met, time travels immediately after having purchased french fries and mozarella sticks. The atmosphere on the patio is unparalleled, thanks to the specific illumination installment. Customer service is friendly and the time machine‘s location excellent. I advocate the institution to anyone looking to escape the present and (re-)live life in some...
