For the neighborhood (Edgewater/Rogers Park), significantly overpriced for unacceptably small delivery portions. Example: The “quesadilla basket” is about twice the price of El Famous Burrito for half the actual food (including no rice and a tiny plastic cup of beans.) Essentially mini enchiladas in the enchilada dinners (which I guess you’re not supposed to notice because here’s where all the rice is stuffed on the side.) Tiny, overpriced guacamole and chips sides. Overpriced desserts. Definitely a one and done for us. Much prefer El Famous Burrito, La Choza, etc., for portions and price. Quality is literally no better at Susupuato. Took us more than a decade to order from here after having one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had at Susupuato 11 years ago. The best I can say is at least they’re not completely terrible anymore. But that’s about it. I would also note that this is a restaurant in the shadow of Loyola, so (as with lots of other places around here), students from the middle of nowhere with no clue give bad nearby restaurants high stars because they don't know any better. We’re literally two blocks away, but we will definitely never go near this...
Read moreI don't do reviews very often, but when I do it's either for very excellent service or very poor service. My son ordered a beef burrito and when he comes home there was no beef in it. I called the store, asking them to give my son the correct kind of burrito and the manager (who hung up on me, without revealing his name) told me to bring the burrito back to exchange it. I said the store should really do 2 things: apologize give my son the burrito that he ordered, but NOT an exchange because a. My kid already started eating when he noticed there was no meat b. having been inconvenienced a customer of having to return to the store and hold back on eating dinner till the remaining dish has been returned and showed to the store manager, the least a restaurant should do is to replace the dinner. Usually, the manager will also either give a free coupon or a discount on the next order. This manager said he can't do either one - that he needs the burrito back and can only replace it IF, indeed there is no beef. So THAT's WHY...
Read moreI ordered from this restaurant for the first time last night through the GrubHub app. I rarely like taking a chance on a new restaurant but decided why not. So I was thinking about getting some nachos with meat ground beef to be exact. My husband got steak as his meat and I ordered 2 tacos for my daughter. It came quite quickly and I opened my box and saw that it wasn't like the heaping amount that I would usually get from the other restaurant but still wanted to reserve my opinion about it until I looked at the tacos and the steak nachos. The tacos looked good and had nice amounts of everything my daughter usually liked. So I ate my nachos and it was tasty but still not as much as the other restaurant. So just to get to the point despite the serving size and the price it was an okay meal but maybe add a little more chips and meat and it would be worth the...
