The food isn't the problem with my dining experience. Actually the food was pretty good! But the service I received was absolutely terrible.
My girlfriend and I got a table outside. I noticed a man texting on his cell phone for about five whole minutes, and it turned out it was our server. He didn't bother to take our drink order first before he engaged in a texting conversation with someone. I get it, you need to text someone. That's fine, but can you at least ask for our drinks first?
We placed our food order, and this guy couldn't even navigate the tablet thing that he used to take the order. He kept asking us for clarification about what we wanted. I ordered the Monte Cristo French toast, and a coke. It took about ten minutes for him to bring the coke out to me. Then when the food came, I got the wrong thing. I received regular French toast, when I ordered the Montr Cristo French toast.
Here's where the real problem started. When I told the server that this isn't what I ordered, he got defensive. He said "dude, you said French toast". Right, I did... The Monte Cristo French toast. That's what the item is called on the menu. His response was "but that's a sandwich". To which I replied "right. It's a sandwich. Which is called the Monte Cristo French toast". And he said "then why didn't you say sandwich?" Now, to make it clear, there is no non-sandwich version of the Monte Cristo on the menu. There is nothing else with that name on the menu. He just messed up the order. Which, is fine, it happens, but his attitude was so horrible about it that it made me actually angry. I know what I ordered, and you repeated it back to me. You just messed up, and it happens, but don't be rude about it.
It took them another FIFTEEN minutes to get me the right order. We were running late because it took them so long to bring me what I actually ordered, so the minute my food comes out, I asked for the check. They had sent a different server instead because apparently our guy didn't want to deal with us. It took ten more minutes to get the check.
Overall, the food was fine. I'm sure the rest of the staff is great and friendly and kind. However, this one server was SO rude and bad at his job that I have to give one star. I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with him. He was rude for no reason and tried to blame me for his mistake. Mistakes happen. It's cool. I'm not mad about the fact that it was a mistake. I'm mad that you tried to blame me, tell me I'm wrong, took forever to fix your mistake, and were incredibly rude about it the...
Read moreI really liked this place! But we tried to be nice (and we were) we only tipped $20 on a 100 because the service was not great. The only nasty thing is my yelp review unfortunately. The food was great! I went there with my 3 other friends for a bite out and we got seated immediately. The service was just peculiar.. it took a hot minute for our server to greet us but he had other tables and I think another table that was sat right after us. All of us who ate there yesterday have had or currently work in bartending/ serving so we get it completely. We didn’t mind the wait it really wasn’t bad. It was just odd that after we put our food in and got our soda we never saw our server afterwards. The runner was nice she gave us our food. We did get 2/4 dishes earlier than the others so we just sat there waiting for the other 2 plates but it was a sandwich/salad and the other 2 burgers. So makes sense in a sense to send it out when it’s ready maybe the qa was off yesterday. The weird thing that I didn’t like was that our server went to every single table in their section but ours and never gave us refills or asked how the food is. He seemed really nice and very punctual with his words but just didn’t want to talk to us :/ The only time he asked if we needed anything else was if we needed a box and we declined (burgers don’t keep very well with the bun). I think he didn’t like us because I asked if the sides were vegetarian when ordering and it says they all are on the menu. I just get anxious and mess my words up I’m sorry. I liked the food and atmosphere it was cute! The host was also friendly. I’m really trying to like this place but I’m anxious that they wont serve us well if we want to go back out. The cheese curds were the best, the sauce was delish. I’d probably do take out agin. The Mac n cheese side wasn’t too great but if you put the tomato soup sauce from the curds on top it’s real yummy! I think I’m going to get a grilled...
Read moreOrder came, opened it. and this was wrapped with my sandwich. Didn't order the dead bug. I've ordered from Jerry's many times, but THIS is the last time.
Edit regarding the below response from the owner: Sorry that you feel that way. Its not technically whining as much as its a cautionary tale for your kitchen and your customers to check the food. I can't imagine many people wanting a new order sent out after that experience. But hey, thats great for the other readers to know that you would be willing to offer a replacement if they should happen to have a similar experience (and hopefully they don't). This isn't the same as forgetting a side, which has happened before, and I didn't leave a negative review. I called and got a lukewarm apology. I still continued to order, because yes, as you said, things happen. This isn't the same as the order coming late, which has happened before and I didn't leave a negative review. I called, and again got a lukewarm apology and was ok with it because yes, as you said, things happen. This, however, is a bloody dead bug wrapped in the sandwich. Your response insinuates that i'm in the wrong. If it was my restaurant, I'd reach out and say, "Hey your review is harsh, you clearly have ordered from us before. This was a horrible mistake. Would you mind taking this down, and allow us to make this right?" I think more people would respond to that, but to be combative makes it seem as if you don't care. Maybe you don't. Either way, seems to be plenty of people who have left good reviews, and a few who didn't have such a great experience. But it's your responses to those who didn't have great experiences that are a worse reflection than any negative review ever could be. A dead bug in your food is a dead bug in your food. It is what it is. It's gross. Anyway, thanks for...
