I honestly don't come here often in fact honestly I'm a sugar tooth and frequent the bubble tea shops nearby. What brought me in however was Chicago's air quality crisis recently.

Two days ago I went to sleep with all the windows wide open in my apartment. I didn't realize that Chicago residents had been issued a poor quality air warning and I woke up at around 4 AM on Tuesday with a horrible migraine. I was vomiting 🤢 and feeling like I had been poisoned overnight with toxic fumes!

I walk in here and a Denzell encourages me to buy a cold pressed juice made with turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper and oil of oregano. He also made me a Green smoothie but I didn't realize the green drink is made mostly up of avocados so he gladly let me choose another drink and didn't get angry with me for the misunderstanding. I get nauseous from avocados but hey that's just me. You might really love Avocados 🥑

There are tons of smoothies to choose from, other cold pressed detox drinks and different types of acai bowls.

I still have one more Rescue remedy bottle in my fridge which I'm definitely going to drink later today because it helped me immensely.

Came in at 8:20 am and the menus were still turned off (electronic screens). That's fine -- pulled up the menu on my phone and ordered a Winter Wondermint. My total was $15.95 (including tip). I then proceeded to wait 19 minutes for my smoothie in a near-EMPTY store. If employees are busy or overwhelmed, I can be flexible... but again, the store had maybe 1 or 2 other patrons in it, there was no apology given for the wait time, and employees showed no sense of urgency. When I did get my smoothie, it had none of the toppings listed on the menu (whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, sprinkles). It was just a plain white smoothie for SIXTEEN dollars. I then asked about the toppings, and was bluntly told they were out of the whip. Ok ... but what about the chocolate sauce and sprinkles? And why then, was I charged the same price for a half-made smoothie? I could have been more understanding if an explanation was given upfront. To top this flop of an experience off, the smoothie was BARELY blended and had chunks of frozen fruit all throughout. I would have asked for a refund for this concoction if I wasn't already late from the near 20-minute wait. I went here for breakfast this morning. The spot is really nice looking and has some awesome breakfast options! The store is clean and has really good health food products. I ordered the harlequin monkey and asked for the “chocolate hearts” on the side and no chocolate sauce. The bowl was served with chocolate chips on top and banana chips on the side. I was told they swapped out the chocolate hearts for chocolate chips. They did offer to remake the bowl which was a good gesture. My fiancé ordered the black Phoenix (espresso smoothie) which was served warm. This was definitely odd and when he asked about it, they said it doesn’t have any frozen fruit in it just banana. It was quite different since smoothies are cold and a warning that he was getting a warm smoothie would have been nice.
