I live down the street and usually go to Orange, but decided to try this place out because they serve Dark Matter Coffee which is excellent. I’m not gonna judge the entire menu by what I ordered one time so don’t take it that way. This is my review for what I ordered and the service. I got the chorizo and scrambled eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy. Safe bet, right? The bisque sure and gravy were lacking flavor. No real sausage taste and the texture was a bit off. Not the worst I’ve had though. The problem was the chorizo and eggs dish. It looked like overcooked grey eggs with a really terrible version of chorizo. And with half melted pepper jack cheese that must of taken up half the volume of the dish. It looked like they threw the eggs and chorizo raw in a pan and cooked them together instead of cooking separately and combining. Then they threw some cheese on it, melt partially and sent it out. The color was grey and the cheese was definitely poor quality bagged shredded cheese. Side of fruit looked and tasted like it was cut days ago. You know how strawberries just get mushy when you cut them and leave them in the fridge for a day or 2? All the fruit was like that. We were one of 2 tables that were seated in the front of the restaurant and the waitress didn’t stop by one time the entire meal to check in or fill our coffee or water. I know it sounds like I’m ragging on these people but the service was really bad, and the dish I ordered was terrible. She did however ask why I didn’t eat the food and I was honest and said it wasn’t very good and she promptly took it off my bill. I would never ask them to do that I would have just accepted it, so they get points for at least realizing I wasn’t happy. The place is oddly decorated but that’s kinda their thing I guess. I don’t think I’ll...

I wish I could give this place a better rating, but my recent visit was extremely off-putting. I ordered the fruit salad and immediately noticed a long strand of hair mixed in. When I brought it to the manager’s attention, their reaction was shockingly indifferent—no apology, no concern, just a bland acknowledgment. A restaurant’s true colors show in how they handle mistakes, and this was a fail.
To make matters worse, when I shared a photo of the issue online (because, yes, finding hair in your food is gross), I was attacked by so-called "neighbors" telling me to "act like an adult" and just pick it out. Sorry, but basic hygiene isn’t negotiable. If a restaurant can’t ensure simple food safety standards or address complaints professionally, they don’t deserve customer loyalty.
this place seems to be the staple of the neighborhood and so is the village tap which is just down the street, if you are not from this area, you should think twice coming here to eat because you might get a difference treatment. i wish id screenshot that lady's comment, very cafeteria high school bullies vibe.
Zero accountability, zero remorse. Won’t...
Read moreWent here with mum with a groupon. The place itself is interesting, I thought I was walking into someones house. The outside area seems to be for quick bites, but there are 2 big rooms behind, one being outdoor and that would be really fun in the summer. I have to say though, that I was here during winter and it was WARM. Lots of wood, multi coloured steel chairs and tables and a tiki lounge. They also have some board games to pass the time, it really does feel like you are in someone's house. Liked the little bright multi-coloured lights as well. Staff was great through the course of our meal, even changing my order when I changed my mind. (hey, my mind is a delicate piece of machinery!)
We had the pesto omlette and the southwestern bbq chicken omlette. I chose not to get the BBQ sauce on top and was glad I did, since I didn't really like the sweetness of the sauce. The omlette, however, was outstanding, I am eating it for breakfast again today. They come with hash browns and texas toast too, I can assure you you wont go hungry of you come here. The mimosa I had was nothing to write home about, but mum's mai-tai was amazing.
I will come back in the summer and enjoy...
