Do. Not. Sleep on this spot!!! Honestly the best slice of pizza I’ve had in Chicago in a long, long time. It’s a perfect, no frills, neighborhood spot, and MAN they know exactly what they’re doing.
We ordered a Cheese and Sausage/Pepper/Mushroom, pizzas came out HOT right from the oven. I’m not kidding when I say I don’t think I’ve ever had a more perfect first bite of cheese pizza ever in my entire life. The sauce was so bright and tangy, the crust was crisp, the slice as a whole held together and wasn’t too floppy or soggy. Perfection! I chatted with the owner, Mike (idk, he gave off owner vibes!) as I was sitting there fawning over everything and he mentioned he uses unbleached flour and an herbal sauce, making their pizza super light and not heavy on the stomach. He even tossed us a free scoop of their Italian ice—so velvety and perfectly lemony. I’m not joking when I say I never write reviews, this might be my first Google review ever, but I felt like the people needed to know!! Such welcoming vibes, slices and whole pies available, I felt like I was hangin’ out in my uncles shop. I’ll be sending everyone here. You...
Read moreWe’ve been waiting patiently for this place to open for several months. Stop by Friday after the Cubs game and was psyched to see that they were open. We had three slices of sausage and we were blown away. One of the best crusts we’ve had in years. And, cooked perfectly. Crispy with no flop at all. The sausage was perfectly seasoned and not greasy at all. If we wouldn’t have just come from the Cubs game Where we ate all day, including extra innings, we would’ve gotten another six slices. We also had lemon ice, which was perfect. Not sugary, not grainy at all. Can’t tell you how glad we are to have a small family run place like this nearby. In a city full of horrible franchise restaurants and self important chefs telling their customers how lucky they are to be dining at their establishments, It is so refreshing to see owners like Mike taking pride in what they do, and making sure that their customers are blown away before leaving their place. The only downside is that the owner mentioned that they can only make a certain amount of pies per night, so make sure to get there early and often. I can’t recommend this place...
