Not even close to it's counterpart. The only pinball tables they have are a dollar while the counterparts location in Lincoln Park has tons on freeplay. If you're here for games, go elsewhere. Of course unless you're stuck with friends who want to stay in a particular area and drink, this would be the next best thing.
*update due to reply I do appreciate the response and very much respect the limitations this location has. I suppose the one thing that kind of put me off as a new visitor to the city was that they are under the same name which leads one to believe they are similar in size. Of course this is an assumption however I do consider it to be a fair one. I myself being a very big gamer wanted to visit both either way.
My review was to help anyone else similar to myself looking for guidance in regards to which seems to be the true nature of your bars.... the games. Both locations that I visited were good, however the Lincoln Park location was great. I rated that location 5 stars because of it. To further compare the two, almost all of the pinball machines at the Lincoln Park location are on freeplay, but the Lakeview location only has the 2 and neither of them are freeplay.
To further explain, when we visited knowing the location had pinball machines, we discovered that there were only 2 of them and one of them had the bill acceptor broken meaning we couldn't even play it even though the table itself functioned fine. If we'd had quarters, we could have used those but there was no change machine and the bar could not provide any quarters.
In summary, it's tough to rate these locations with the same rating since one is clearly better in comparison. The reason I write reviews is to be a helpful guide to anyone visiting who may not have the time to do the research for themselves. I write many for my own home city of Detroit for the same reason.
Again, I do appreciate the response and understand very much the space limitations the location has. Perhaps a naming scheme that is more straightforward would be in order to help people in the future.
Lets say you stick with the gaming nomenclature.....
Nintendo handhelds come in many different form factors. The advance being a larger version and the micro being the smaller. What if the Lincoln park location was called Replay Advance, and the Lakeview location could be something like Replay Mircro to reflect the size...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely NOT. Donāt go here if youāre a lesbian, theyāll start making assumptions and watch you all night. I went in on June 7th at 9:00pm.. Iām pretty sure you guys are aware of who works what shifts so I donāt have to sit here and describe him.. but Iāll never step foot here ever again. Me and my partner both used the bathroom and got harassed by the bartender saying ā we took too longā excuse me? Itās two females, Iām sure as a guy you know NOTHING about us while we use the restroom but to kick us out because of your assumptions? First of all⦠weird, are you counting the minutes in the bathroom and assuming what weāre doing? Do you do this w everyone else? Because if so⦠weird! You should be bathroom security not a bartender. YOURE worried about how long people pee and poop foršš? WEIRDO. 2. We didnāt last longer than 5mins.. itās two of us dude? Stay sober baby maybe you wouldnāt go making assumptions on the people supporting this bar. Lucky I was nice enough to respect you but the day I see you, I hope I donāt cause thatāll be the day :) never returning here and telling all my people to not go here!! ESPECIALLY as a lesbian.. youāll have eyes on you all night and feel uncomfortable. I wouldnāt be writing this if his assumption was ā trueā but Iām truly disgusted of what he THOUGHT we were doing.. Please watch cameras and timing*assuming ⦠is not okay. Do better! The worst F bar ever.. and Iāll make it known :).normally I wouldāve taped and posted on social media .. but I thought he was kicking us out because he was ab to close, I myself was super confused but got ittttt ;).. hope you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBar owner / manager came out to the street before the pride parade acting like he owned the entire street in front of the bar. Asked us to move where we were because it was in front of his bar and he had family coming and we can't be there. Then without permission started to move our stuff! We took a video of him doing this and asking him to stop touching us and our stuff and he finally gave up. We were more than happy to share the space but its a public area during one of the biggest events in the area of the year. Owning the bar doesn't mean you own the sidewalk or the street before a parade and it also doesn't mean you get to treat people like crap and move their stuff just because you think your family gets to stand in front of your bar more than people who have been on the street partying for hours before the parade. Just ridiculous behavior from the management and it really makes me wonder how employees are treated too. I used to love this place but I will absolutely never go back. See you on the PUBLIC STREET in front of your bar next year too, you don't own the street. If you want a private area for your family try closing your bar instead of pretending like anyone owes you anything. Love that the immediate response to this was a lie about sharing the space (something we offered to do), when the reality of the situation and what we have on video is that you started moving our stuff and trying to rope the area off. Putting a chair on the sidewalk doesn't mean you own the whole block, pride parade isn't dibs, you didn't shovel the snow out of it. Extremely telling that the response to this is...
