What an absolute gem. Our friends had eaten at Sila's and recommended it, so we gathered for a meal, and every good expectation was exceeded. The staff is really friendly and helpful; the restaurant is actually spotless. Not very clean, spotless. And it's charming. The decor feels like the most welcoming little taverna, and I was as comfortable as I have ever been in 50 years of city dining. Sila's has a really clever idea going, in which we create our own bowls, wraps or pitas, and dress them to our liking. They have terrific combos for vegetarians and for vegans, and they honor their choices by cooking things separately. For omnivores, oh wow, try the gyro. I've never eaten such tender gyro; it wasn't greasy or tough, nor overseasoned. It was tender and flavorful and bountiful. The pita is fluffy and tender; the veg, fresh and clean and bountiful, as well. It's the kind of food we'd cook at home for family if we had the skills, space, time to do so. We ordered falafel for the table and it was tender and again, not greasy. The baklava was bursting with pistachios and not too sweet, nor was it oily. Every single sauce, from tzatziki to the green harissa to the garlic sauce, was perfectly seasoned, and fresh. We are just so happy to have found this place, and I hope everyone in the neighborhood checks it out. To add a cherry on top, our four top spent a while, because we hadn't seen each other in a minute, and though it was getting busy, we never once felt pushed out; on the contrary. We will be back; I'm keen to try their veggie options (marinated chick peas, rice and peas, Jerusalem salad, tabbuleh, etc), and to build a bowl. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality, flavors, and neighborhood, and we need to keep this absolute gem in business, because Sila's is a true gift to the area. I don't mean to dive into hyperbole but I wish I could give them more...

Read moreOmg sooo good!! Walked in on a whim and I was so so pleasantly surprised. It’s like a Mediterranean version of a Chipotle setup. Family owned and such kind and considerate people. You’ll feel right at home once you walk in. They literally couldn’t have possibly been nicer. They just opened and are so excited to share their yummy food with all of the boystown area. Apparently they NEVER freeze their food and it’s all made in house. The falafels AND the hummus are both made FROM SCRATCH!! AND even their water is in these cute little fancy things and it’s delightful and delicious. If you’re coming out of a drag show in boystown or another event in lakeview, it’s perfect because they’re open until 2!! I came in with my nails done and tired as hell from work and I left so full and happy. I can’t wait to come back and try their desserts next time and bring my laptop to do homework and...
