I had high hopes for Sojourn, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite meet expectations. A group of friends and I visited on Sunday (9/29) as part of our monthly Supper Club. We had made reservations weeks in advance, but upon arriving, we were informed that the restaurant was out of about half the menu due to an event over the weekend. I understand that things like this can happen, but it was still disappointing to have such limited options. I had been eyeing the poke bowl and truffle mac n cheese, but both were unavailable.
We started with the Burrata, which was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. I also ordered the Strawberry Basil Cocktail, which I enjoyed, but my friends weren’t thrilled with their drink choices and wished they had gone with mine. For the entree, three of us ordered the burger, but unfortunately, it fell flat. It looked great in the photos online, but tasted bland and uninspired. The fries, on the other hand, were crispy and flavorful. One of my friends had the Kale-Quinoa Caesar Salad, but she said the kale leaves were too hard and crispy for her liking.
We ended the meal with the chocolate chip cookie dough pudding, which was good but could have used more cookie dough mixed in to really elevate it.
Overall, we left feeling underwhelmed. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but with so many items unavailable and the food not quite meeting our expectations, we’re not in a hurry to return anytime soon. Hopefully, it was just an off...
Read moreOur latest visit here was extremely disappointing. We had been here once before and had a wonderful meal. We brought some out-of-town guests along with us this time and it was VERY different.
We were told our food would be out in “just a second” by the wait staff, but after a long time waiting, nothing had been brought out. That was not a problem for us, as we were not in a hurry and happy to wait. But when we asked about our food, it arrived 30 seconds later and was all cold. The meat and cheese were dry and the bread was starting to get hard on our sandwiches. It was clear they had forgotten to bring out the food and it had sat under the heat lamp for at least 25 minutes. Instead of making fresh food for us, they just served it lukewarm and hoped we wouldn’t notice. But it was extremely obvious what had happened.
When the manager came by to ask how everything was, we expressed dissatisfaction and he just walked away and did not seem to care. Our waitress came by to ask us the same, and she did take 10% off of our bill. But the food was at least 90% worse than the first time we had it. We would have understood if it was busy in there, but there were a lot of empty tables as far as we could tell. We will...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place!! We have been wanting to stop in forever since we live nearby and it looks so nice inside. Finally made it for brunch and SO glad we did.
The inside decor is gorgeous. All greens and cream with gorgeous mirrors and a light filled and airy atmosphere.
The prices are surprisingly really reasonable for a place that looks pretty upscale inside. The food is elevated home cooking style to me. The avocado toast came with a large house salad that was super fresh and citrusy. The avocado toast was incredible. Some of the best I’ve had. The layer of marscopone is a game changer. I’m usually hesitant to order avocado toast out since it’s often overpriced bland avocado spread on soggy bread and I make it better at home! But so glad we ordered it because it was delicious and fresh.
The side of home fries were perfect. Crispy and flaky but soft inside with s house made ketchup. The biscuit sandwich was great! They swapped out the bacon for avocado with no up charge which I appreciated. The biscuit was great! Flaky and soft without being too dense and heavy. The egg was well cooked as well.
Server was friendly and helpful and attentive. Love this place! 10/10. A new...
