Worst place in Wrigleyville. I went to a cubs' game 7/27 , Cubs vs Reds. Closed tab at 1845. I left my visa gift card behind. 7/29 I noticed I did not have this card. I called and was told the Visa gift card is with the manager and to stop in 7/31 on mustache crawl and was told its too busy to find my card and to come back in tomorrow 8/1. Was very busy, so i understood. I arrive 8/1 and they're closed for maintenance till 8/5. I show up 8/7 at 1220. Watched two manager scrambles to look for the card, then came to me to tell me it's too busy to find the card, when they have no wait at the bar and no one around. MUSTACHE CRAWL WAS BUSIER THAN A CROSSTOWN CLASSIC GAME DAY. Was told to come back later when it's not busy. I call 8/9 before wasting my time going in again. Lyla manager on Duty said. it's in the safe, got placed on a 1.25 hr. hold . I hang up call back and someone else answers to tell me they're going to look for Lyla ,puts me on hold. When they return, they advise that the manager that told me this card was here had quit, that I was mis informed of the whereabouts of my card. Vines on Clark did nothing to repay me in anyway besides tell me they will take my name and number and will call me back. This Gift card had $400 on it . This is a very unprofessional establishment and way of keeping payment cards safe. I understand I left a visa gift card behind in my waiter's book, but to tell me several times that it's there and to come get it and then to say I've been missed informed....
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. I have been to Vines plenty of times, but this is my last time. I brought my family, including 3 little kids to Vines. When we sat down at 11:15am for an early lunch before the Cubs crowd came in, there were 20+ tables open. We placed our order over an hour ago and still have not received our food. Tables that were open, have been filled and the costumers have been sat down, fed, served and have already left. Our food is "the only food in the kitchen" being made, which the entire restaurant has been served at this point. I spoke with the head bartender and asked to speak with the manager. She said that she was the manager. We asked our waitress for the manager...oddly enough it was not the bartender that I have spoken twice with. Not only is the service clearly horrible, but the staff also lied to me when dealing with an issue with our meal and service. For this business, own up to your faults and certainly don't lie to the customer. I am a business owner right down the street from here, and I will be sure to let my customers know of my experience here. Avoid this place. I hate not supporting fellow local businesses, but this is my worst experience in my 16 years living in Chicago. Good riddance. Go lie to someone else. Food was...
Read moreI live right around the corner from this place so I come here a decent amount. The food is really good for a Wrigley bar. Much better than many others on the strip. The Vines Burger may be my favorite burger in the city. There's just so many phenomenal flavors going on, Ah i love it.
They also have trivia on Thursday nights. It's pretty fun with a great atmosphere. Absolutely beautiful outdoor patio.
The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because of the service. I don't know how they did it, but I think they've hunted down all the worst servers in the city and hired them all. I've never had any of them welcome me in or make me feel like their guest... in fact, I don't think i've ever seen any of them smile. I don't know what it is, but I hope they work it out. I love the food here, but if the service doesn't get any better I may have to stop frequenting this place.
Food is good though. Good spot pre- or post- Cubs game. Check it out if...
