I don’t have anything worth mentioning about the food here….and to preface this I am not one to get offended or displeased easily. I think this may be the first review I’ve actually ever left in my entire life. I just find it incredibly bad practice as a place of business to reject the customers The ability of using the restroom in the restaurant. I would understand if I was a random person off the streets who was not getting food from them however I was a customer here getting food contributing to the business and they would not let me use the restroom ….not because it was out of order but just because it was their policy and I just don’t think that’s the way to treat customers at all. There are a lot of places in Chicago that will not allow a person to use their washroom unless they are a customer so you have to kind of utilize the places you give busines to ….so I just found it appalling that my business didn’t grant me access to the bathroom that I greatly needed to use. I had to run across the street to the McDonald’s. They are lucky I didn’t pee all over their floor. It was...

I had an exceptional experience here during lunch with my kids. My 6 year old daughter, who is reserved about new food experiences, got it in her mind that she wanted to try sushi one afternoon. My only criteria in looking for a lunch spot was that it opened early and served sushi, so we landed at Yatai because they opened at 11:30am. I was so pleasantly surprised at how good the sushi was, but beyond that how incredibly nice every single person who worked there was.The waitress (owner?) was very friendly with my daughter and son in a way that is above and beyond normal service. She was very adept at talking with little kids, and so easily understood what my daughter wanted to order, which made my little girl feel really special. When the food came out, the kids were served on the most adorable little cat plates and had kid-friendly training chopsticks. They even gave my kids special cute dinosaur napkins. When my kids wanted to watch the sushi being made, the man behind the counter was equally cheerful and friendly. Lastly, everything was affordable. I can't...

Ive been eating at this place for over a year, I ordered an entree that I used to get a lot and haven't gotten in a while and was pretty disappointed by the amount of food given. The orange chicken has always been good to me even though its always seemingly been just bulk purchased frozen boneless wings in a very sweet orange sauce, they gave a lot of it, it was a good deal and i liked it. But now... it costs the same amount of money, yet they give you half the amount of meat if not less and its just the same boneless wings but cut up into little pieces in a smaller container. Their food is still the same good quality, they're good with dietary restrictions, are very accommodating and polite but now they're trying to cut costs by changing portion sizes of certain ingredients (some menu items suffer more so then others like the orange chicken). At the expense of the customers without disclosure of this major change and its just really disappointing and upsetting because to me that change means that item is not worth...

I LOVE this place. I graduate in 2 months and i’m going to miss this restaurant more than anything else in Chicago. My friends and I go here at least every 2 weeks and that’s under-estimating. Best Asian fusion in roger’s park by far and it’s so affordable with great portions. BYOB and they give you glasses and a bottle cooler as soon as you sit down. We have tried almost everything on their menu and my favorite items have to be the fried gyoza, edamame, chicken wings, egg rolls, and the avocado roll for appetizers and for mains I am obsessed with the chicken teriyaki rice bowl, the pad see ew, and the panag curry. They also have cute dessert teas that they offer if you come in for a birthday. Lots of people order online and do pickup - which is totally fine but if you go to dine in it’s an adorable place with beautiful ambiance and unique dishes plus amazing service!

This place definitely Deserves a good rating! I have been looking for an asian restaurant in the area with cheap sushi and asian foods, and this place has it! Food: Appetizer was crispy good, and the Wonton soup was perfect! As for the main dishes, I got the ’Kaarage Rice Bowl’ - I got Crispy , Juicy Chicken, lots of rice, that included cabbage with delicious dressing. and my boyfriend got ’Panang Curry Rice Bowl’- which was very creamy, loaded with veggies and juicy chicken And shockingly, Both were yummy and quality food— Good for the price. Next time i’m trying their sushi! Ambience: The atmosphere was casual, cosy and chic with a cute sushi bar. and they had a small and hospitable staff. Might I add, they added a Great touch at the end?! ...That cute little box with a cookie inside was everything! You MUST GO. I know I will again.

I literally can't say enough good things about Yatai! The ramen is to die for, the sushi is so fresh, and the pad thai is a dream. Don't forget to get the mini pork cha shu rice bowl, you'll thank me later. Besides the wonderful food, the staff and the owners are the kindest people. They clearly care about their customers' happiness and they take the time to get to know you. Just the today I ordered using UberEats and something went wrong with the delivery driver, but they made sure to make things right even, though it wasn't their problem to fix. I love this place not just for the food, but because I feel so cared for and loved. It shows in everything they do and I hope they are successful for many years to come.
