I recently had the pleasure of visiting Zizi's Cafe in Chicago, and I can't express how delighted my family and I were with our dining experience. As someone who often misses the authentic Iskender Kebap back in Turkey, I was thrilled to finally find the genuine taste right here in the USA! The food at Zizi's Cafe was simply outstanding. Both during our dinner and lunch visits, every dish we ordered was full of flavor and made with the utmost care. Our taste buds were transported back to the streets of Turkey as we savored each delicious bite of the Iskender Kebap. Aside from the scrumptious food, the service at Zizi's was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient, ensuring that we had a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Despite the bustling atmosphere, our meals were served promptly, and we felt warmly welcomed by the staff throughout our visit. One thing that pleasantly surprised us was the generous portions. The value for money was incredible, as the portions exceeded our expectations without compromising on taste or quality. We left Zizi's feeling both satisfied and eager to return for more. The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, making the dining environment comfortable and enjoyable. The bathrooms were spotless, a testament to the establishment's commitment to hygiene and cleanliness. A unique feature that sets Zizi's apart is its open kitchen concept. Being able to witness the kitchen in action and see the chefs preparing our meals added to the overall dining experience. The kitchen was immaculate, reflecting the restaurant's dedication to maintaining high standards in both food preparation and presentation. During our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Zizi, who greeted us with warmth and hospitality. We also took the opportunity to personally thank the chef and staff for their exceptional efforts in creating such a memorable meal. While Zizi's Cafe is a three-hour drive from our home, the delightful experience we had makes us eager to return every time we visit Chicago. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Turkey, friendly service, and a clean, inviting environment, I highly recommend visiting Zizi's Cafe - it's a culinary gem that should not be missed!

This is what a gold standard local restaurant looks like from where I’m at right now having tried it for the first time. The staff here seem to really care—we had John (tall blonde guy) and he was the best. He’ll hook you up right if you need any guidance. We wanted dessert but were so full and couldn’t decide. He gave us a couple baklava to try and they were delicious. Really fantastic service with delicious food provided by people who seem to take a lot of pride in what they make. I just love to see food treated in such a respectable and loving way overall. Doner Iskender platter is a must order. The meat with sauce on a bed of chewy and crispy bread along with the yogurt is top notch. Lahmacun we were told is as Turkish as you can get, and we loved it. Like a “Turkish pizza” it’s pretty light but very tasty. The pro tip we were given was to put the onions, parsley, and lemon juice on it flat, then roll it up to eat it. Excited to return. Excited to try the Kunefe dessert, which was highly recommended. Excited to get my butt over to Turkey which I have yet to do.

Adana Wrap We don’t have words to describe our love for this cute Turkish Café. Not the very best on interiors but miles ahead of other restaurants in terms of food. Mostly everything’s made in-house and they do a great job with traditional kebabs, platters, and gyros. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥 Spicy hand- chopped lamb on homemade Lavash with tomatoes, onion, parsley, and romaine lettuce with yogurt sauce and fries on the side. The meat so tender and juicy, Lavash (the bread) so fresh and flaky, and the yogurt sauce so tangy. Everything was done to perfection. Optimally spiced and very flavorful. The dish was perfectly balanced and very tasty. Rich in both protein and carbs, maybe slightly higher on fats. Maybe, haha. But c’mon, it was sooo good. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 The food’s delicious and they’ve got a ton of healthy options. Everything is appropriately priced, the portion sizes are huge, and the staff is very welcoming. One of the best places for a budget date night, a good mellow family dinner or a friend’s night out.

Title: A Memorable Evening of Turkish Delights at Zizi's Cafe in Chicago

Review: I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unforgettable dinner at Zizi's Cafe in Chicago, where I delved into the fascinating world of Turkish cuisine. From the moment I stepped into the warm and inviting ambiance, I knew I was in for a treat. Zizi's Cafe has mastered the art of creating a personalized dining experience that combines Turkish flavors with exceptional service, making it a truly special place.

As a lover of Turkish cuisine, I was thrilled to explore the extensive dinner menu that showcased a tantalizing array of traditional dishes with modern twists. The passion and dedication of the chefs were evident in each carefully crafted plate. From the first bite to the last, I was transported to the vibrant streets of Istanbul, savoring the rich and aromatic flavors that defined Turkish cooking.

One dish that left an indelible mark on my taste buds was the succulent Lamb Shish Kebab. The perfectly grilled tender lamb, marinated in a blend of fragrant spices, was a true celebration of Turkish culinary expertise. Each bite was a harmonious dance of flavors, accompanied by a medley of grilled vegetables and fluffy rice that provided a delightful contrast in textures. It was a dish that embodied the essence of Turkish cuisine—bold, hearty, and utterly satisfying.

Another highlight of my Turkish feast was the savory and aromatic Borek. These flaky, golden pastries filled with spinach and feta cheese were a delightful indulgence. The contrast between the crispy exterior and the warm, cheesy filling was simply divine. It was a dish that exemplified the artistry and precision that goes into creating Turkish appetizers, leaving me craving more with every bite.

What truly made my evening at Zizi's Cafe exceptional was the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Their genuine passion for Turkish cuisine shone through as they guided me through the menu, offering personal recommendations and sharing stories behind each dish. Their hospitality made me feel like an honored guest, and their knowledge of Turkish culture added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience.

To complement the delicious food, I ventured into Zizi's Cafe's impressive selection of Turkish beverages. Sipping on a cup of rich Turkish coffee, I savored the intense flavors and appreciated the traditional brewing process. It was the perfect way to end my culinary adventure and reflect on the wonderful evening I had just experienced.

Zizi's Cafe has truly mastered the art of bringing the vibrant and diverse flavors of Turkish cuisine to Chicago. Each dish is a testament to the dedication and skill of the chefs, and the attentive service creates an intimate and personal dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Turkish cuisine or simply looking to embark on a culinary journey, Zizi's Cafe is the perfect destination. Prepare yourself for an evening of Turkish delights that will leave you with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for this...

One of my super favs in the whole wide city! I will drive clear across town to get this grub! The ezme is so delicious. I love it cold and also taking some home to heat up, too! The homemade bread is to die for. Every single thing on the menu is delicious. I love the vegetarian options. Call me crazy and bland, but the salmon is awesome. Of course all of the traditional feasts are far above par. Kazandibi Turkish Flan might be my favorite dessert on earth.

But the best of them all is zizi himself. A man who loves his food, loves his people, and is always good for a chuckle. The sparkle in his eye + kebabs might be the reason I keep coming back for more!

I have eaten here no less than 100 times in my life. It is ALWAYS our go-to for fresh healthy hearty homemade food. The staff is regular, kind and attentive to detail. There is something special when the employees of an establishment genuinely enjoy their place of work. Great spot for take out, dining in solo, groups or a quick snack. Always plenty of leftovers and great size portions for the cost. We love the salted fish, which they masterfully de-bone! For take out, they pack in a metal tin for reheating if necessary. Salmon is always cooked to...
