Dave's Last Resort & Raw Bar — Restaurant in Lake Worth Beach

Today I decided to visit this restaurant, My family & I encounter a waiter that was extremely sarcastic!! I respectfully ask that he/she not talk over my drinks due to our family still practicing safety tips from the pandemic!! I was extremely polite when asking. I’m very mindful of the way I speak to others. After receiving my bill I paid, let’s keep in mind my bill was over $100 dollars so provide my funds to the waitress, she ask did I need change I said no thanks, moments after I notice two employees whispering then one return with change placed it so hard on the table that the coins fell on the floor!! I ask excuse me is there something wrong, did I say anything that offended anyone because I would like to correct it!! The employee mumbled & walked off. I ask the manager could I speak with her in reference to the situation, she frowned up her face & said (what’s up) I was completely losted for words that she addressed me in such unprofessional manner… I responded & said excuse me please again she responded ( what’s up) I paused because I was completely losted for words based on her demeanor & lack of customer service, I explained to her what took place & her response was ( oh you MAD because he gave you your change) this woman had no understanding to even hear me out, she defended the situation whole heartedly I quickly noticed my complaint was pointless so I asked for the owner’s information which she pointed to the sign & said his name is Dave once again I ask for contact information & she provided after displaying full attitude a email address on a very small piece of paper, I ask for a business card she stated they don’t have that. Clearly management doesn’t display customers service so I know employees may find it hard to be kind!! I will never revisit this location!! Also the manager went to all employees & talked loudly about my complaint saying what do I want her to do!! I’m so very disappointed!! My family felt so mistreated!!! The waiter assumed wrong about me, by thinking I wasn’t going to tip but that definitely wasn’t the truth!! I’m very Generous!! So I warn the public of the unkind hospitality this restaurant &ma employees display I patronize this business it’s not kind how my family & I was mistreated..I would love for the owner to be notified asap of what took place today!! Not a friendly...

It's difficult for me to find a good restaurant ... I've been working in restaurants for almost my entire life ... I'm always just looking for a simply prepared dish , at a reasonable price and taken care of by a pleasant and attentive server . I can't tell you how rare of a find that is . I'm happy to pay for a meal + 20%...I'm really just looking for a fair trade. And if I find such a place and lucky enough to find one item on the menu that I enjoy...my wife(Sarah) and I will return . Benny's on the Beach use to be that place ... We loved their fried shrimp ...while sitting on the pier in the fresh air overlooking the beach and ocean enjoying a beer or two etc. No more Prices ,Parking and Pretense (on the part of chef Jeremy Hanlon) ruined it . That simple pleasure will run you $100+ now! $9+ for parking ,$20+ for 2 beers, $25 ea. for 2 fried shrimp, +tax and tip ...That's only 1 beer ea. So , we left ... see ya . But that's OK ... after being disappointed that night we found DAVE'S ... a regular folks kind of place ...open air to the street life on Lake Worth Avenue ... nice folks , reasonable prices and no pretense , it is what it is and we like what it is ... and most of all we found another place to get our fried shrimp fix !!! They have a good Burger and fries too ... so that's two items and two reasons to return... lucky us . So why not 4 stars ? They covered all of our criteria ! YUP See you again Dave's , next time we get a hankering . :)...

I went there once before and was unimpressed by the hosed draft beer, yuck. I then only felt safe to have a bottled water. Regrettably, the food nor the service were not much better. The overall experience was not at all commiserate with the the total on the bill. I decided to give them another chance (being the carnivore that I am) when I saw the $30 NY Strip on the menu. Again the service was wanting... I expected a better experience since I notified them at the door that I would be ordering the stake special- wrong. After being seated and waiting several minutes, I had to get up and ask for service. The teenage server had no idea what wine would be good with the $30 stake. I then cautioned on the requested medium rare temperature of the stake before she sundered off chewing her gum and disappeared. After waiting a while... remaining positive... I ordered an appetizer and a lackluster wine to fill the time. There was ample time to complete the appetizer... I ordered only as an afterthought... before the $30 medium rare stake arrived. There is redemption for them yet... the $30 stake was an excellent medium rare (considering it should have been served a la cart ) and very tender and tasty... earning them their 2 stars. Spending what I did for one person, given the service from the hostess, servers, and brief conversation with the manager... this establishment does not deserve a $30 NY Strip on their menu- they can never...
