I came to this restaurant because it was close to my hotel, and it looked like a nice place to introduce my foreign friends to my authentic cuisine.
The restaurant was described as a fine dining lounge, but when I arrived after trying to find any parking around, it looked more like a sports bar.
Regardless, we were still hungry and wanted to experience the flavors and service of Peruvian cuisine. When the server arrived, I asked her to explain the menu to my friends, who were visiting a Peruvian restaurant for the first time. However, the server only read the menu and provided no further information, including the types of juices they offered. She did offer to provide us with some samples, which was nice and earned the restaurant an extra star. However, the server's attitude was somewhat rude, especially for a fine dining establishment.
Although I personally didn't enjoy the food too much (the octopus that I ordered was too dry) my friends were new to Peruvian cuisine and found it to be okay.
After we finished our meal, it took about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table, and it turned out to be the busser trying to do his best. This earned the restaurant another star.
When it was time to pay, the server returned with a bad attitude and said that another person gave me the check and he forgot to add the tip because we were a table 6 and up, which was no advice anywhere, giving plenty of excuses. While my friends didn't say anything, I was upset by the situation.
After they paid the lady didn't back for a good farewell which was terrible.
I spoke with the manager and she was nice, but she gave me an excuse that didn't make sense. In my opinion, if the employees are new, it means they haven't received proper training. Also, I didn't see her check the salon either to see how was going everything.
I won't recommend this place until they improve their service and...
Read moreThis place has real potential to be a great successful restaurant. The front of the house ( servers, hostess, manager) needs more training. The service is terrible, meals coming in different times, empty water glasses, no attentiveness by any staff, they need to pick up the pace. I saw 6 people waiting over 15 minutes by the hostess table to be sat when there were 4 open tables this shows carelessness and unprofessionalism. They look under staffed or occupied doing something else then paying attention to the tables. The staff doesn’t look professional or skilled in service. Wearing jeans and over sized shirts sleeves passed the wrist line. I saw a table of two getting one main course and other person’s main course came out 25 mins later. She watched him eat and finish his plate while she waited patiently for her dish to come out. Then he watched her eat because he was all done. Heard the servers say she forgot to put the other order in. 🤦🏻♂️ I saw 3 tables ask for the check and waited over 20 minutes to get the check. The bill has automatic 20% Gratuity which forces the customer to pay when service is terrible. That didn’t sit with me well. Automatic gratuity should be for tables with 6 or more people. Note to the owner: Food is good. Service needs work. Remove the auto gratuity and you’ll see more...
Read moreHaving had little luck with finding a good meal in downtown Lake Worth, I didn’t have tremendously high expectations for one of the restaurants by the folks a store Victoria’s . While the avenues were quite crowded this particular weekday evening, there was a more relaxed, less busy atmosphere here. The menu is filled with various typical Peruvian dishes, including of course one of my favorites, ceviche. Almost all of the dishes that contained fish were just corvina, and little else. Fortunately corvina does make for a nice ceviche. Prepared in the traditional fashion of lime, cilantro and onion, this dish was generous in portion and refreshing. For the main, I had even more corvina. The poached fish came served with a heaping helping or various seafood smothered in a blend of sauces that were rather tasty, but was asked to be served on the side. The calamari, shrimp and lone mussel were not particularly that fresh and the fish was a bit over cooked for my likes. While the accompanying veggies were quite tasty, the price point of almost $30 certainly does not justify trying again. While it was certainly not a poor visit, not sure a return trip is...
