McDonald's — Restaurant in Lake Worth

We stop here a couple times a week usually and this afternoon I placed a mobile order as usual pulled up gave my code then drove to the window. I was handed my drinks then asked to pull around behind the line of other cars out front. Not unusual here. I get out there and am waiting and there are bags of food going out the door to cars and none seem to be going to the right cars as they are going from car to car to figure out who had what. The car in front of me was handed a bag and she inspected it and waited with it hanging out the window. When the employee came back she told her that was not her order... So I wait and wait, she finally gets her order and drives off. And I wait and am asked a few times what I ordered... Finally another girl comes out and takes a picture of the receipt on my phone and then comes back with a bag. She said they couldn't find my order in their system. Seems they had no problem with my code at the order speaker and they handed me the right drinks. She said maybe I ordered at another location. Well the receipt in the app has their address on it the time I picked up the drinks at the window and I also have the emailed receipt with the same info I it.

I checked the bag after I started to drive off and noticed that I was missing my fries so I had to go back and inside to get them. I also made sure to show the address and order time on the receipt.

And if you read all this and remember what happened earlier.... I think my order was given to the car in front of me and it was returned and then trashed as they can't handle food back out. But they never remade the order and brought mine. My order was registered by their system as me being at the window at 5:03 I finally was back on the road at shortly before 5:30.

The moral of the story. If you order with the app... When they ask you at the window if you want a receipt the answer is yes. Another form of receipt is always good though I don't know if that will keep it from disappearing in...

I mean it's McDonalds....should we have high expectations? Ordering from the kiosk is easier than trying to explain to the undertrained employee you want your burger wrapped in lettuce instead of in a bun, that was sad. Food wasn't prepared well, they give you a number now and bring you the food to your table, which would be nice, but they didn't bring any sauce for the nuggets, zero napkins and they forgot the drinks....smh

What was worse was the sanitation of this place. The play area was absolutely disgusting. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month, yet I saw 3 employees sitting and talking at the counter. Trash was full, floors were sticky and there was a melted ice cream cone next to the touch screen games that had a crust developing around it where it was drying cause it had been there so long. They keep the restaurant and play area so warm that the kids couldn't even play for a few minutes before they were so red and sweaty they had to sit down. I know you may be thinking that this is Texas and it was summer....but today it rained and was only 80 degrees outside, so they have no excuse. Combined with the poor sanitation issues makes this a germ motel I'm sure...gonna bathe the kids in purell tonight.

They also have ZERO activities in the playplace for toddlers...not that it's a must to provide that, but most places do have that so if I were the type of parent that read reviews I would want to see something about that before I take my 2 year old there, this isn't something we do very often, we cook at home. These things all combined, we won't be returning. This is purely a management issue, I can't believe this franchise allows this...guess since it's Lake Worth and they have such a high volume of flow they just do what they want. It'll catch up...

I ordered a 2 cheeseburger combo. Didn't get my drink. Also ordered nuggets and did not get sauce. So I went back in line.

I saw a young man take two people's orders and then walk away leaving an old lady behind at the counter who waited patiently for another chance to maybe possibly get food. At a fast food restaurant. In less than an hour.

I could tell this polite old lady was hungry so I shouted out "hey you forgot about this lady!" So the young man came back and took her order then left again before helping me. So I said directly to him... "I just need ketchup and my drink" he completely ignored me. I asked a second person "I just need ketchup and my cup for my combo!" Ignored again. Finally I saw a different (and much less polite) young man approach the counter and reach for the cups! I thought wow he must have heard me! Awesome. When I reached out for the cup I got daggers. He yelped... "You just reached for like you ordered it from me!" Me thinking I did I repeat myself for the third time... "I just need ketchup and a cup" instead of just handing me the cup and going back to his business the young boy decided that they needed to scold me publicly before doing so. Telling me. "U can ask me" gosh I must have only asked in my head I thought I had said it out loud?! I'm so sorry. So I asked again... "Yes I need a cup" he handed me the cup... "And some ketchup" I hands me the ketchup... If you were short-handed, short staffed and short on time I don't believe you would have as the amount of time he used to harass and berate me.

But somehow he found the time...

Thank God. He could have spent that time helping the old ladies in line.

After all this I still never got my sauce. Give that poor boy a day off before he goes nuts and...
