This is hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever tasted. I really love the depth of flavor in the palak paneer, chicken biriyani, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken. This last time I told the guy the heat in the dishes are all a bit too much for me even though I love the flavor. He was incredibly helpful and took time to thoroughly explain whats in the dishes and made recommendations of what I may or may not like based on my “white girl spice tolerance”. I was so happy to hear that they will make most of it with out the heat if you ask. He even let me taste the biryani to gauge my tolerance of the heat. we tried his recommendation of the malai kofta made mild - we never had this before and it instantly became a new favorite dish. We couldn’t stop raving! The paneer tikka masala (made mild) was truly the best I’ve ever had which is strange because usually I dislike a sweet tikka masala! Just to be thorough, the naan is my least favorite. But this is just MY personal preference as my friend liked them. I prefer them fluffy, bubbly and chewy where these are flat and dense like a pita both times I ordered them. If I never had naan again I’d be ok because the samosas are just absolutely freaking amazing. As one reviewer mentioned, this last time I ordered it seemed like it should have been fried a little longer to make it more crispy. That said, the samosas alone are what kept me coming back even when I initially found the food to be too spicy for my mild tastes. All in all, with food this good, really good prices, and great service— sweet neem is it. I may never go back to another Indian restaurant. I wish I got that guys name that was so helpful because I look forward to trying the dishes he recommends! (FYI I only scored the atmosphere a 3 based on dining in. If you are looking for ambiance -this feels like more of a pick up your food and go type of place - with the option of eating there. It’s nice you can shop at the store...

A Hidden Gem for Chettinad Cuisine – Sweet Neem.

I'm a top 10% Google restaurant reviewer in Illinois.

As someone from Tamil Nadu, I rarely come across a restaurant in Chicago or Illinois that genuinely understands the depth of Chettinad flavors.

I ordered the goat chettinad, and with the first bite, I knew I had found something special. The bold medley of spices such as kalpasi and coconut, the slow-cooked tenderness of the meat, and the unmistakable aroma of freshly ground masalas transported me straight to a kitchen in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. It wasn’t just food—it was nostalgia on a plate.

Many places attempt Chettinad dishes, but few master them. Here, the balance of heat, spice, and richness was just right—no shortcuts, no compromises. I could taste the authenticity in every bite.

If my taste buds could talk and thank me after a while. Sweet Neem has set the bar high, and I’ll return for more. This is the place to go if you’re looking for authentic Chettinad...

Sweet Neem Indian Grill is a must-try culinary destination! From the moment you taste their food, it’s clear why they’re a favorite among Indian cuisine lovers. The flavors are absolutely superb, leaving your taste buds delighted with every bite. Whether it’s the perfectly spiced Special Chicken Biryani, the crispy and flavorful Gobi Manchurian, or the unique and comforting Mango Dal from their catering menu, every dish is a standout. The portions are generous, offering incredible value for the price, and the service is nothing short of outstanding. Their catering services are equally amazing, with impeccable packing and on-time delivery ensuring the food arrives fresh and ready to impress. For something truly unforgettable, don’t miss the Green Chicken, a tender, herb-packed masterpiece. Sweet Neem is not just about the food – it’s about an experience that blends flavor, quality, and care. Highly recommend this gem for dining, catering, or just indulging in a...

By far the BEST Indian food in the area. The masala’s are creamy and piping hot. The basmati rice is delicately cooked. Fantastic grilled chicken. And the naan bread is amazing - slight crisp on the outside and perfectly fluffy inside. We ordered a bunch of food unsure of portions. This included 4 naan breads, veggie spring rolls, grilled chicken, chicken tika masala, and butter chicken. Wonderful creamy sauces with deliciously marinated chicken. It was so filling we took everything home. Looking forward to leftovers. Reasonably priced. For all this food we paid just over $60. It’ll last 3 meals. The atmosphere is fine. It’s in a grocery store and seating is limited. I’m sure that will change over time. Frankly, some of the best food I’ve ever had has been in grocery stores and gas stations. Looking forward to getting food from here again!

We found this restaurant recently and you have to try them! It’s connected to a grocery store so you can shop and have lunch at the same time. The food is great - we tried a couple vegetarian dishes and all were excellent. And I have to say appetizers are absolutely delish! We were there on a rainy day and had Bhajji (pakoras), samosa and Irani chai. Both Bhajji and samosas were amazing! And I have had the same snacks at lot of restaurants .. lol… but this will be my go to place for rainy day or any day bhajjis. Perfect in texture and taste. Pics will tell you the real Story! Irani chai initially feels strong but it takes a couple sips to get used to and then you will love it. If you live around this area, must try Sweet Neem!!

This review is for the items i had - Samosa and Sambhar Vada. Just by looking i could say it’s a frozen samosa and not freshly prepared. On top of that they did a poor job in frying that. Outside it needed some more frying and inside it was cold. How could it be cold when it was just out of fryer and served. Sambhar vada didn’t look good presentation vise and again similar story. It was just prepared and was completely soggy. How is it possible for medu vada which is just fried and served to be that soggy. It certainly didn’t taste like freshly prepared. Sambhar had no taste at all. Only thing i could taste is salt. Their other items may be good however these 2 items need quite amount of improvement
