Great outing on the water. Kayaking was a superb idea. It was a hot day, but the water was always nearby for a splash.
The lifeguards were friendly and helpful in pointing us to the gate house to purchase our non-motorized boat day permits ($5/day or $40/season), and show us where to launch. And so the day began!
Boats were going up and down pulling laughing youth in inflatables and making waves that in turn made kayaking more pleasurable.
The scenery on the lakeside changes just enough not to become too monotonous, and there are a few establishmehts for replenishment, including a restaurant called Bobbers. With a bit of planning, one should be able to include it into a day of fun.
On the one side, right next to the water, we also saw a "boat shop" next to the water, surrounded by pier and an umbrella-table or two. We didn't stop to inquire, but it seemed like one could get refreshments there.

Read moreNo dogs are allowed. Geese hang out here. There is a splash pad. 3& under are free. Beaches too, they cost $5-7 dollars depending on if your a resident or not. Beach area of the lake is beautiful, even a huge umbrella on the beach is provided for the people Lifeguards to watch over the beach and wear masks. The playground is the BEST! They have a section for the littles and the big kids. Busiest on weekdays before lunch and busy on Sundays. Taken care of. Maintenance workers are nice too. Read moreVery nice park. There are numerous walking paths, along with beach area, play ground, and a concession stand with a good variety of food and beverages, not just snacks. They have a skateboard park, and a sledding hill in the winter. They also have a couple of outbuildings that look like they're available for events. A good size parking lot and farmers market on fridays in the summer.
