Our first visit to Mister Fish! There were some positives and negatives to share, I'll start with the positives.

We ordered the fish sandwich and a fish basket. The same pieces of fried cod were in each. I was pleasantly surprised with the freshness, flavor, and texture of the fillets. Very tasty, not oily or greasy, and a delicate light batter. We really enjoyed them. The sides of fries, cole slaw, and baked beans were also very tasty and flavorful. Fries were crispy and done just right.

The staff at the window was friendly and cheerful. They communicated well.

On to the negatives. It is outdoor seating only, just a few picnic benches. It's in a sketchy neighborhood and we are pretty sure we saw a drug deal across the street. We also observed cars cutting through the parking lot to short-cut to the side street. We did not feel safe sitting here and dining. It would certainly be better to order take-out but we didn't know this beforehand.

We felt that the prices were rather high for this kind of counter-serve restaurant, especially for the sides. A tiny cup of baked beans was $4 (it was about 3 bites worth). They were certainly tasty but this cost was just way too much. The meal ticket was over $40 for the two of us.

Overall the meal was good, and I would stop in again for take-out if I am in the neighborhood. But I advise patrons to not attempt to dine on-site and to avoid extra...

This is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant first when you call in to place the order and you look at the website online apparently they say that’s not up-to-date. When you get to the store I ask the gentleman over the phone if I can order a Philly cheesesteak Priced $10.99 And can I make it a basket for $2.50 ( As advertised) He says yes, you can, The basket includes fries and coleslaw, I then proceed to ask the gentleman can I swap the coleslaw out for extra fries? He says yes you can but doesn’t mention it’s an additional charge. When I get there, I don’t have time to discuss it so I end up paying almost twice. What the online price advertised. Then proceed to call to speak to a manager, and the girl who answers remembers me and basically says it’s just a real complaint? What’s the big deal about what happened? I gave you the menu why do you need to speak to a manager basically asking all of these questions to get me off the phone places me on hold and then someone who answers is obviously showing no signs of customer service or understanding when it comes to Lying from her employees and disrespect from her employees . Just know if you order online, your price will be double these young GenZ kids don’t seem to care about anything except for themselves horrible horrible restaurant and...

The food was absolutely wonderful!!! The flavors were amazing in everything we had. There was 7 people in our group and we each got something different and everything again was amazingly great. The young men and 1 young lady we dealt with today Saturday July 13 was friendly, helpful and in my opinion went above and beyond! It took a little time to receive all our orders but again there was 7 people in our group and others walking up. Considering the amount of people and the fact our food was all fresh, it was well worth that little extra wait. Most of us had our orders within 10 minutes 15 was the longest if that. So I’d say maybe 20 minutes in total for everything. My only complaint was the lack of parking but with the library right there some were able to parked there. Also maybe the fan pointed towards the windows on the outside might be pointed towards the picnic tables. It was just too hot to really enjoy our meal to the fullest. Just a suggestion. Last but not least the prices were really good for the food amount we got. Thank you,...

You can definitely see there is a change in ownership. Prices have increased and portions have decreased. I don’t think I have ever been to a restaurant where they charge extra for items that normally come with your sandwich. We ordered one large fish sandwich and one chicken sandwich with a side of hush puppies and corner fritters and spent $46. The original fish sandwich had a large fish filet but the new sandwich now comes with 3 frozen fish sticks. They also up charged me $4.19 for 4 small corn fritters. I’m okay with paying for sides, but $1 a corn fritter was crazy. They also charged me 44 cents for a slice of tomato, 44 cents for a piece of lettuce and 70 cents for tartar sauce. She also wanted to charge me 35 cents for ice when I asked her for more ice because the tea they gave me was warm. As a long time fan of Mr. Fish, I think it’s horrible that the new owners have taken advantage of the customers that have supported this business over the years.

I'm sorry the food is good but the container is bad. They are trying to poison customers. I have attached a picture. The heat from the food melt the packaging until holes are formed. This container is dangerous and poisonous for hot food. You should have been using paper container. I didn't realize the holes and once I say it, I stopped eating and threw away the rest of the food. It has been contaminated with poison. This shouldn't past health food inspection. If you want to use this container, this is fine for cold food or you just have to wait until the food is not too hot until it could burn the container. Never place hit oily food from a fryer directly in this type of container. It's common sense. They definitely don't care about their customers health and safety. Just looking for profit.

Memories of Mr Fish from my childhood were fond ones. My great grandfather would bring me there and I would get a giant fish sandwich and two giant hush puppies. I brought my buddy (Dookie the dog) and ordered the same with fries added. Instead of one slab of fish as I remembered there were three small filets. The hush puppies were 4 that were the size of shooter marbles. The sandwich was tasty and the small hush puppies were also good. The fries were seasoned and hit the spot. It wasn't what I remembered but I still liked it. There is only three picnic tables outside seating two with umbrellas. I chose to sit at the nearby Lake Morton at a picnic table and me Dookie visited the ducks.
