If you want to feel like you've been robbed, come to this location.
I don't even know where to start. Firstly, when we got there for their lunch buffet (11am-2pm) we were overcharged by $1 a person. Then, once we got there, we noticed that there was nothing but lettuce, croutons, light dressings, and 2 different types of pizza. The dessert, which was nothing but a pizza with cinnamon on it, was put out over an hour after the buffet started and taken out 20 minutes early. The pizza had this garlicy oily spread on the crust and I think it was to make people full faster, but it just made the pizza taste terrible and way too heavy. The pizza was also not kept warm enough, and the lettuce was not fresh. On top of all that, their drinks were sold separately, and for a small child's size cup they charged $2.79.
Half of the games were out of order (yes, literally half!); and since none a lot of the games didn't have signs station that they were out of order, they'd just take my kids' credits and not let them play. The other half of the games seemed like they were purposely programmed to not give you all of your tickets, none at all, or just a very small amount of tickets altogether. My kids were literally getting about 1 ticket per game. When we went to count our tickets at the machine I noticed that the machine not only was skipping some of the tickets when it counted them, but sometimes when I inserted a ticket the machine would begin counting backwards! I bought my kids 50 tokens each and they ended up with around 50 tickets each. When we went to get prizes we ended up having to pay cash to get our kids a prize.
My husband and I noticed that they removed the jungle gym as well, and I'm unsure why. Possibly because parents were taking their kids to play in the jungle gym for free and not buying anything?
Altogether we spent around $70 here and were constantly disappointed. I've always had a decent experience at Chuck E Cheese's and I've been going to this location since even I was a kid. I'm not sure if they changed owners or what but I don't remember experiencing so much obvious greed from a single establishment. We will not be going back to this location, and I suggest you don't either. The location in Long Beach on 5th street is closer to our...
Read moreI recently purchased the gold pass and its a really great deal for $29.99 a month with 50% off on almost all food and drink. Plus 250 points for games which is definitely more than enough. My kids and I played for almost 2 hours and we still had enough points for games so we decided to bless other families with some games for their kids. Its cool because if you have more than one kid, you can split the points on different cards. For example I split the 250 points between 3 kids so each game card had 83 points. And each game is 1 point to play! My rating is a 3 star because I feel like you shouldn't pay for the trampoline/play area. Its $18 for 1 child but even with the gold pass discount with half off, $9 to me is still too steep for a play area. Also, there were quite a few games that weren't working but still took away my play points. I also noticed that compared to other chuck e cheese locations, this one had the fewest games available for play. My family and I ordered the #5 which is valued at $70. Comes with 2 large pizzas, cookie cake and 6 drinks and we only paid $35 using the gold pass. The pizza was great and the cookie cake was awesome. When we were buzzed that our food was ready, we were still missing one whole pizza which we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for. The overall cleanliness was pretty good and the...
Read moreFirst of all the kids love this place (of course) The whole place seems to be taken care of pretty good. The bathrooms are clean and the workers do a pretty good job of cleaning up the continual mess in the general area. I mean, kids are running around with food in their mouths carrying tons of paper tickets, so there is always something on the floor but not excessive.
The staff are helpful and reasonable. Each time we have been here our food has come extremely late, but the staff was apologetic and gave either free food platters of free tokens.
The games are mostly in good working order. At least one game is out of order at any given visit. But the biggest thing about this place, is the hint of sweaty feet when you first walk in from outside. It's basically a hundred kids stuffing their faces with pizza and running around like crazy. But it's distinctive on arrival. It's not the smell of the over priced pizza or over priced Buffalo wings... It's the feet. It goes away after a few minutes,...
