I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but I won’t. We were a group of 8 and we all obviously wanted to do the karaoke. When it became my friend’s turn, the DJ shut off the song and said that she sang a while ago. Mind you she did not. Our other friend who did sing before just wanted to join her on the mic. We then said let our friend who didn’t sing sing, so he finally agreed. However, when the other friend joined the DJ stopped the song, and went on about how he’a running a business and people are waiting to sing. Mind you we all waited a minimum of an hour to get our turn. We didn’t skip turns. We followed the rule of registering for our turns. My friend did call him a profane word, in which he responded in a very negative manner that made him sound racist towards us because we’re all Arabs. He went to ask people in there “hey do you want them there? Do you even want to hear them?” I didn’t appreciate that mockery. Sad that I actually liked Corky’s but not anymore, especially with that attitude and demeanor towards...
Read moreI've been here before and it is always a good time. This time was absolutely horrible. The guy running Kareoke was skipping people like crazy and then hopping on the microphone and telling people that he would skip anyone if they paid him money and then saying he wasn't taking bribes...that was crazy. My friend waited 3 and a half hours and didn't sing one song, while we saw multiple people go up more than once. Absolutely mind blowing that he literally got on the microphone and was telling the entire bar that he was skipping people on purpose. When we brought it up to him, he purposely skipped my friend time after time when they were the next one on the list. That guy should not work here. Multiple people complained about this guy skipping and the whole night he was telling people to pay him to skip everyone in line. Is there a manager or anything that works here? If you are looking to have a good time singing multiple songs, this is not the place to come, no organization. Absolutely wild, we will not be spending our money...
Read moreStopped in here on a whim while visiting Cleveland for the weekend. Understand this: you CANNOT describe the crowd at this unassuming karaoke club. Young (over 21 obviously) and older; frat boys and party girls; a rainbow of skin colors. Even the bar staff ran the gamut, with several body styles and at least two genders happily serving up drinks. And absolutely everyone was mingling and having a great time together.
In short: Corky's on a Friday night is what the world needs to be the rest of the time.
A wide selection of bottled and draft beers that was reasonably priced (we paid $24 for six beers) and self-service karaoke song selection meant that even if the wait to sing can be long, you probably won't go broke or be lonely waiting. A second seating area is home to several Nintendo Switches available for free play of a few games on offer.
If I visit Cleveland again in the future, I will definitely put Corky's on my list for an early night stop (karaoke starts at 7:30 most of the week, and 6:00 on Fridays...
