Cozumel Lakewood — Restaurant in Lakewood

Whenever my best friend & I have the same night home (every few months), we have made it our tradition to order takeout & Cozumel has easily become our favorite spot over the past year. The food is always amazing (delicious, prepared to preferences, great temp, & endless options).

Tonight, beyond the food being as tasty as always, I have to give the biggest shout out to Angela - who was handling the front of house & UberEats orders. We ran into an issue where our delivery driver ignored contact from us + Uber support. After an hour past our ETA, not a lot of support help, & the restaurant nearing its closing time - I made the decision to call Cozumel directly. Angela was so kind from the minute she answered the phone, listened to our situation, she agreed that they could pass our order off to me, & she offered to contact Uber from the restaurant’s end too. She was so kind as to keep our food under a warmer so that we could still enjoy fresh food. She detailed our delivery issues to support contacts on their end & assisted me in making sure that the restaurant was taken care of & so were we. She even threw in extra to-go silverware & grabbed a bonus roll of fresh tortillas. Angela truly had the kindest demeanor, did the absolute most to assist us, & made an extremely happy resolution to a situation that started to go south. I can’t thank her enough for her patience, help, & wonderful attitude! I hope she gets all of the praise & any sort of incentive possible, because she is someone who cares about her workplace, the service she’s delivering, & every customer’s experience. Angela made our night & I hope we get to interact with + thank her her again in the future … it’s thanks to her that we are full of food & will continue to keep Cozumel at the top of our list for our celebratory meals...

This location has declined in services and quality over recent years. This location fails to provide services other Cozumel's locations provide. Like ordering a pitcher of margaritas. The server just put it on our table of 5 and did not pour the first cups for us like the other two locations do. Then upon tasting the the two pitchers we ordered, first watermelon then strawberry they failed to have any flavor in them at all! The food was just about perfect and full of flavor and warmth. But asking the server repeatedly for the kids with us was a change and they lost 75% of their tip. It seemed as if the server did not want to be there or assist us. Making the experience at the old Lakewood IHOP a rather inconvenience one rather than an enjoyable one. Overaerving other patrons to the point where you cannot even talk to each other because tables around you have been over served and getting louder and louder as you try to talk to the kids in your party as the servers continue to serve them even more alcohol to add to their intoxicated patrons. Seems as if this continues to be a practice at this location then Lakewood Cozumel's will NOT last but a few more years before closing their door or being forced to close their doors by local...

Cuzemel is My Fav Mexican restuarent and social get away for myself and favorite and closest friends ,and family handsdown!!!! The quality of food and staff cannot be beat ,in my eyes😍. I visit weekly am greeted with a smile,and now know management ,and staff by first name.. The service i recieve is just the best from almost all staff not to mention my favs:),u know who u r::. U will always feel welcome,aprreciated and staff go out of yr way to make u happy, to see u smile. I never have to ask for more of anything . when myself and bestie come in we r Treated like family. They even now know so what is it this week this or this. Lol .. Great atmosphere,good food,and drinks r fantastic,and not crazy over priced. I would have to say 5 yrs faithful now u have celebrated my birthday there every august and without fail go 1 every 2 weeks for great food,comfortable feelings,welcome atmosphere great service and great drinks not to mention no one is Ever rude mayor bonus, u can't go wrong!!!!
