I love this place but I hate covid. So many restaurants have changed how they wait on people. So this is a pizza place and a small deli and a small store and dine in and has a bar. Versatile. You order at the counter. I'm not a fan of this. I'm the kinda person when I go out I want to be waited on. Worked all week, kids, tired ,yadda yadda. But several places have changed to this. Anywho they did let me do a running order so I didnt have to put everything in at once. The deli closes at 3. Not sure why. I would have probably ordered a sammich and some cheeses. Maybe not enough help. But would have liked it to be open. I was able to get some mixed olives. The were delish. I also got some pepperoni out if the fridge and they cut me a loaf of day old bread for 99 cents! I also bought a bottle of wine for 16 bucks. They are getting an ice machine at the end if the month so they can make cocktails. Yay! also got a caprese salad. It was very good. But served in a to go box even though i was dining in. Kinda wasteful. We ordered the sausage pizza with ricotta. It's super good. I would order it extra crispy next time. Also ordered some cannolis. They make their own filling. Yum. I recommend the pistachio. I really like this place. The food is really great! And the people were very friendly and sweet. The things I didnt like were ordering at the counter. Having to get my own plates silverware and water. I know im entitled. But I've waited tables and I like getting waited on . I didnt like the hard f'ing chairs. I hate uncomfortable chairs. And the music. This place is a lot of cement and echoes. It was busy and the phone was ringing an people were talking and the music was busy and loud. I like more chill but again that's my opinion. I'll deal with it though to eat this amazing pizza. I would recommend them doing the numbers on metal holders also. So the girl isn't wondering around with food calling out numbers it would streamline that process. I would like to say I have opened 3 restaurants. One of which is still an award winning pizzeria in denver. So I may be critical but I do know what I'm talking about. Also I think the menu is limited right now and I hope they add more stuff back . I'd loooove to see a...
Read moreGreat pizza but a bad customer service experience. I’ve worked in food service and there were several red flags that management needs to correct for this place to thrive. Upon arrival for a pickup order, the hostess called out my order number to which the cook replied “Toast told him 7:45 so he’s early”. While I agree that I was 15 minutes early, a “few more minutes” would have sufficed as I was eager to check out the restaurant while I waited. The hostess then handed me my salad that I ordered (+ chicken) while I waited (and while the chicken began to cool). Even if the restaurant wouldn’t have done anything differently if they held my salad behind the counter, the appearance of not timing their food prep properly isn’t a great experience. While waiting for my pizza, I was offered to sit at the bar. In my 10-minute wait, I was not acknowledged by the bartender nor offered a drink. Instead, she was too occupied explaining to her friends that she could comp their beers but couldn’t comp their cannoli and that she wasn’t excited about working tomorrow because of the anticipated low tips. I also witnessed a cook drink from an open-lid cup while at the prep station and chug a beer while crouching down behind the prep station. Then, the hostess grabbed a piece of pizza and plate from the back and was eating it in the front of house between ringing up customers. Dough trays were also left out on the counter uncovered. Finally, on the way out the door, a different cook was outside on a smoke break wearing his apron (something that is generally unsanitary in the food service industry). Hoping this place can turn...
Read moreI've had pizza to go a couple of times. This week my son & me went and dined-in. The wait staff was oblivious to basic rules of waiting on customers. Over half the time the waiter was looking in another direction when talking to us. I actually need to see the person talking to me so I can both hear them, read their lips, facial expressions, etc. Then onto the order and food delivery. It went well. Except only one plate was given. I did have to ask for a second plate. Then my son repeatedly asked for another glass of water. The water was never refilled. Does Pizzeria Leopold have dessert? No idea. Was not offered any. I work very hard to be polite to everyone. Always. This is the first negative review I've written in years. Truly hoping the management gives simple lessons to their staff. When wait staff it talking to customer, look at the customer. When the customer is talking to the wait staff, look at the customer. If you have two customers, bring two plates. 6-customers, bring 6-plates. Etc. If a customer asks for something, like a refill on their water, beer, wine, soda, accommodate them. Stop by periodically and ask how the meal is going. As the meal is wrapping up, ask the customer if they would like anything else. Dessert? Boxes for your left over pizza? Another drink? I'll probably never try this place again. There are many good restaurants in the area. This...
