You can't beat the location. Now that winter has pulled away. It's really nice to be on the boulevard. The beer is getting a like more subtle and polished, but it's still all an IPA whether ESB or Pilsner that bright bitter taste takes over. It doesn't land well with spicy foods. The spicy food mixed beer kind of forks the tongue. I think the chef burned out her tongue in a former life. All the ingredients are quirky and brazen, but in a vacuum. They are all cool on their own. When they are combined into dishes, it's like the first round of american idol, a bunch of glory hog soloist trying to belt each other off the stage. In reality there is a spectrum of each ingredient and that exists so you can choose a band of ingredients that play as one. Mostly the food is a sauce delivery device. The slaw doesn't retain a backbone of cabbage. The korean chicken doesn't leave any chicken flavor on the table. The breading is no longer feels fried and is a little thick. The chicken is so over brined it feels gelatinous. The beer cheese doesn't taste like beer or cheese. Basically it all tries too hard and the language of food has broken down. There has to be an easier more beer forward way with a little more spectrum of flavor. Space between the notes,...
Read moreWe enjoyed a nice dinner at Lucky Luke on a recent Monday evening. The restaurant is somewhat like a sports bar, with a couple large TVs on the wall behind the bar showing sports, several dining tables in the middle section of the room, and booths aligned on the wall opposite the bar. Our server was very friendly and helpful and our food was delicious. My wife ordered a bowl of vegan chili and a house salad with agave lemon dressing. She enjoyed both, and was surprised how much she enjoyed her chili. I ordered shrimp tacos with a side Caesar salad. The lettuce in the salad was cold and crisp and the salad was very good. The shrimp tacos are served in grilled flour tortillas, and the tacos are flavorful with just the right amount of kick. We also got creme brule for dessert. It was creamy with a hard sugar crust and a blueberry topping. The topping also had a hit of citrus, and the dessert was a nice ending to a very good meal. This was our first visit to Luck Luke Brewpub, and although we don't consume alcohol, we felt the food itself was...
Read moreI’ve come here a few times and keep coming back because their food is phenomenal! I also really appreciate the fact that they have a cider for me to drink, because I have celiac disease and cannot have beer. I decided to come here yesterday for a small birthday celebration for myself, and we were a group of 15. When we walked in, we were expecting to be seated on the patio, although it was cold, but we knew that given that we were such a large group that might be a possibility. The manager Buck shut that idea down immediately, and made sure we’d sit inside. He told us not to worry about it, and got tables set up for the 15 of us in less than 5 minutes. Buck was also helping us get our orders in, and made the process fast, easy, and made it organized for us at the end when it came time to pay our separate tabs. His service was amazing! Fun personality, super accommodating, and stayed on top of everything for us. Amazing food, amazing drinks, and even more amazing service. I...
