Sassy Bird — Restaurant in Lancaster

Not to be cliche, but I truly am not usually one to leave reviews. Good, bad, or ugly.

But let me tell you– this was THE singular best chicken sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of gracing my taste buds with! I’m just visiting in town until tomorrow. A co-worker who grew up in the area recommended this place to me, and I am so glad that he did!

First and foremost, the customer service– UNMATCHED! Probably some of the kindest folks I’ve met in a while! They truly are dedicated to making sure you feel welcomed and thoroughly enjoy your experience!

The sandwich is a girthy ol’ girl. I think I remember the gentleman telling me that there’s almost an entire pound of chicken (so come hungry!)

I ended up getting the “Hot” dry rub sandwich (wasn’t quite brave enough to get the “Sassy AF” on the first visit lol). Very perfectly and lightly breaded. The dry rub was phenomenal! Just enough heat to kick you in the rear and let you know that it’s there. And a very subtle (but not at all overpowering) sweetness that I can’t quite put my finger on, but these folks found just the right amount to keep it classy and perfect. You can just about taste every single ingredient in the dry rub individually. The flavors all just kinda dance around.

My only VERY minor critique is that I wish the bun was slightly more toasted. But that’s just me being super nitpicky. Does not change my decision to give this place a glowing 5 star review at all!

The gentleman was also kind enough to bring me some of their homemade lemonade on the house, which I needn’t even ramble about how absolutely delicious the lemonade was! It could easily be sold on its own and make a killing!

This will definitely be my spot the next time I’m in the Palmdale/Lancaster area! Bravo, folks! Thank y’all for having...

Sassy bird is a Nashville fried chicken restaurant. In case you don’t know what Nashville hot chicken is it’s fried chicken with spicy oil for flavor. Sassy bird gets six different types of hot flavor and all of them are amazing. The first time I went here I got the sassy Mack ball. this is a bowl filled with mac & cheese, chicken of your flavor, pickles, coleslaw, and a choice of either fries or tater tots. I personally love tater tots and get them every chance I get, and I think you made a huge difference getting tater tots with his bowl. This bowl was everything I wanted all combined together. It’s packed with flavor and very very filling. Be prepared to want to take a nap after eating his bowl but well worth it. The second time I went there I got the loaded fries. Once again, you can get it loaded fries with your choice of french fries or tater tots or both. So I got the loaded half-and-half, which comes with have fries have tater tots, their sassy sauce, pickles, and coleslaw. I put pictures and the box was literally busting out with these fries. The first bite was phenomenal and I did close my eyes to enjoy it. I highly recommend one of these two dishes for the first time going. It’s a great introduction, but feel free to try everything on the menu because everything is amazing. I will be coming back to this place and I will be trying everything...
