Let me tell you about my experience last night at the Marie Callender’s at 1649 West Ave K, Lancaster CA 93534. First off I normally do not complain when something is bad or poor service I just do not go back but things were so bad I feel compelled to tell someone
We (myself and wife) came to the restaurant at about 7:30 PM yesterday 04/03/19. I should of known better when we walked in and the place was practically empty as I have eaten at many different Marie Callenders
I went to the restroom and my wife was seated by the host when I came out, I was surprised to see that she seated us right next to the entrance to the kitchen despite the whole upper area was empty and they did have some tables with people at them. So we had to endure people coming and going all during our meal not to mention the yelling and some type of verbal argument which broke out in the kitchen.
I ordered a Mushroom and Swiss burger – the burger came out cooked far beyond being well done. The Swiss Cheese was slapped on and not even melted on the burger so it was cold. I asked the girl when she delivered the burger if I could get some Mayonnaise she came back with a small plastic container which had a large amount hanging over the top and down the side. (I guess the employee could of cared less) This same employee in clearing the dishes drop a used small empty container of cream for the coffee on the floor. I know she knew she dropped it as she hesitated but yet she decided to leave it on the floor even though she came back a number of times to the table to bring us the bill and pie we had ordered to go.
Now for my wife’s dinner she ordered coffee to drink and it came out lukewarm to the point where we had to call the waitress to get another cup of coffee which was hot which she did. The pot pie my wide order came out and was cold inside.
The manager walked by at least 3-4 time back and forth to the kitchen never said a word or asked how things were going. I don’t know if this is a franchise location or company managed but boy does this location need to major help in training of people and maybe even firing a few. I know I will never be back. McDonalds has better food that is how bad things were.
The fact that they did not even offer a guest comment card as part of the guest check only further shows me that they really do not care about the customer or their experience. Someone from the corporate offices or a shopper should pay a visit to this location as they are causing Marie Callender’s to lose...
Read moreWalked in with my family & a single woman with her children, all of us were greeted by 3 callous little wenches looking everyone up & down in a condescending manner. We were also greeted by a 5gallon bucket for a ceiling leak & complete lack of proper floor signs in the vicinity. The shortest of the rude little snobs which seemed more keen on the idea of gossip as opposed to providing customer service had a quick underbreath conversation with her co-conspirators before taking us to a seat. While my wife left to use the restroom another one of the terrible 3 came to get a drink order, I asked for just water & she said an inaccurate number to my part, I merely corrected her then she proceeded to state but how many children waters, I stated all regular waters would be fine, then in a further attempt to continue talking down to customers she snidely said, in a tone unbecoming of someone wanting a tip for their service, yea well the children's water comes with a lid. I assure I am quite competent & fully aware that in a restaurant a children's drink typically, when mentioned specifically as a children's drink, will be in a non-breakable lidded cup. There was maybe 4 or 5 other customers in the entire place, there was no excuse for running around dealing with a large number of customers for their behavior, once my wife returned from the restroom we gladly walked out to take our business where we would be treated like humans & not demeaned by ingrates unappreciative of having gainful employment in what is regarded as a fine establishment in the area, which I have gone to my entire life in the antelope valley...
Read moreGoogle allows me to rate food (1/5), service (4/5) and atmosphere (4/5). But I rated it an overall 1/5 because the food is what most people even go to restaurants for--we ate hardly any of it.
While we experienced amazing service, having stopped by our table multiple times, as well as an amazing atmosphere, appearances were very deceiving in this instance... the meatloaf looked like fake meat and was covered in a gravy--a strange choice (cracker barrel's is infinitely better). The food was extremely salty which is awful for my blood pressure. My boyfriend had to get a replacement meal because his alfredo tasted awful as well, with onions chopped up in the sauce--another strange choice that doesn't pair well at all. He then tried the meatloaf as a replacement dish but also disliked it. It came with steamed veggies, which probably should've been steamed a bit longer, and also were completely flavorless. I'm fairly certain they were once frozen, which tasted as such. lmao.
We both had a slice of pie for dessert, which did taste great. Not really any complaints, there.
In addition, I woke up at 5am with HORRIBLE diarrhea... thinking it was from the pie I ate. I also had waves of nausea afterward, which subsided after an hour and a half. It's 10am now, and I feel 90% better.
If you're thinking about going here for dinner ($20 per entree on average), STAY AWAY. The only thing Marie Callender has going for it are their desserts. And as I said earlier, I believe it's what gave...
