It was the beginning of last year, somewhere in February-March, when I decided my week was overwhelming, my patience was was being tested and that I desperately needed a few days to have to myself in quiet serenity, where I could watch as much tv as I want, lay in bed all day without feeling guilty about it, and eating a delicious breakfast that I didn’t have to make. When I researched comfort inn, with the big lush looking bed, the complimentary breakfast and seemingly friendly and attentive customer service (my hat goes off to the photographer who must’ve been a woman to display empathy so effectively. With the photos of what appears to be smiling attentive hotel staff members perfectly posed in soft lighting and body language that said “I’m here to help, be our guest”, definitely a woman photographer. dang affective advertisement. Got me again). However, to my dismay, I perhaps had expecting too much. For around 120 $ a night customer service was not at all what I had hoped, and left much to be desired. The Wi-Fi was in and out throughout the entire 48 hours I stayed for whatever reason the “complementary breakfast“ turned into a complementary cup of water, because the dining area was not open, you would think from a luxury hotel, even a mediant luxury hotel that they would comp their guest something in exchange for the inconvenience and broken promises in the unfulfilled dream of a breakfast that I was very much looking forward to enjoying with out having to make it. It wouldn’t of even had to taste good as long as I didn’t have to make it for once I would’ve been more than satisfied when I brought this to the attention of the staff members I was so quickly dismissed as though I were a peasant as it being a situation beyond their control. When I had reminded the front desk staff members that I had called ahead and was promised the complementary breakfast, that I was so determined to enjoy only to find that the dining area was not even open. Therefore, there was no complementary breakfast again I was dismissed with the excuse of it being beyond their control. Beyond their control? Needless to say I had to remind myself “deep breath’s” I had already paid for the two nights, so I figured what the heck and stayed another night. If I couldn’t get comped for anything free, then I was going to ask the front desk for extra pillows. I was determined to get something out of this and yes, I did take the complementary shampoo and conditioner home with me. And so I waited an hour and then I waited two hours. I called the front desk again and then waited another hour. Afraid of what I might see if I had to call the third time I decided to just go to sleep. Perhaps in the year since then things have changed perhaps they have better management in customer service. Perhaps they don’t break their promises of complimentary. Breakfast is to young women, so determined and enjoying it, but I will say that I personally will not...
Read moreI have previously stayed at this location and that is why I came back for Mother's Day with my boyfriend. This stay was not as pleasant as the one before. We checked in at night and that staff member was very kind. However, the day time manager has a nasty disposition and was very rude toward me during the two night stay. Yesterday, housekeeping walked into my room to see if we were there...we were still in bed. This manager saw me go outside to smoke cigarettes on both days. First day, she felt the need to quote CA state law on smoking by entrances, like I am not a pre-law student. If I didn't know any better, with the area we are in, I wouldn't be surprised if the attitude was purely racist. After all, the people standing waiting when I checked out were all brown women. However, upon checkout, they tried to say I smoked in my room and that there was evidence. I was in the position of leaving when the housekeeping manager accosted me, saying I should have been gone, despite my saying I had late check out. I wasn't even on the elevator before she said there was "proof" I smoked in there. The room was stuffy so I opened the window, which was my biggest mistake. There were burns in the windowsill and an old butt to a cigarette already there. They decided to rudely blame me on checkout and kept $250 of mine. Do yourself a favor if you stay at this location...a) go when the day manager isn't there. b) put your deposit on a card so if you get falsely accused, corporate can refund the money they try and keep. c) check the entire room, even the windows upon check in, so you can get another room. I chose this one for the hot tub and now I have to rage to get my money back. If it weren't for my anxiety disorder, I would have pulled her over the counter for her rudeness. I gave 2 stars because the lady that works at night and one housekeeper don't deserve to be a part of this review. I will be contacting them later with an open corporate case. I will update the review with what...
Read moreDear choice hotels, I regret to inform you that my stay at your comfort inn Lancaster Ca. 824 was terrible. Front desk associate Kasandra offended and humiliated my family and I by talking about my child to a third party in front of us. The next morning while we were trying to enjoy our breakfast she kept on Staring at us forcing us to leave because we felt very uncomfortable. She was on her personal cell phone most of the time or she was holding her baby while she was behind the desk. She seemed like she was upset and very unhappy doing her job. I called customer service to make a report I also mentioned how my room was dirty and in need of some repairs. I paid above average on the going rate for this room, I thought I would be getting a quality room, I was wrong. Attached to this email you'll find some pictures; the floor was really dirty and left our socks black as one of the pictures will show you, I wiped the floor with one of your towels, the bathroom vent was missing, the shower curtain was falling apart, there were marks all over the walls, one of the windows was missing the screen. Soon after calling customer service they suggested we talk to the general manager to see if they can change our room or do something for us which I've tried to do but she is out till Monday. The person who helped me couldn't do anything for me besides let me know that they had similar issues with the front desk person and that nothing is done due to the general manager being her sister. He was very apologetic for the inconvenience that we had to go through but he couldn't do much for us. If employees can get away with bringing their babies to work and treat their job like of itI was their own home, the expectations and hospitality standards are just not that important. I would also like to add that our vacation was ruined. Do NOT...
