It's pricey for the amount, but the start to finish product is pretty cool and definitely takes skill. The atmosphere was nice, minus towards the end of our visit. An employee who wasn't working (AGAIN she was not working, nor behind the counter) but looking to pick up hours, stood where customers do talking to the one worker behind the counter for what seemed forever. The worker didn't really partake in the conversation, but for the visitor to be an employee it was unprofessional. We ate and ran, versus hanging out and playing a game. The other worker behind the counter, who made our order, did so beautifully. Almost too pretty to eat. The response from the owner or whoever at rolled cold creamery did not make sense. No one was being trained. No one was standing behind the counter doing nothing. Both employees behind the counter were great. The VISITING EMPLOYEE is the one who brought the bad vibes.

I’m in bed right now, wishing I could have a fudge brownie milkshake being made right before my eyes. This place is wonderful & cute. I’ve been here about 5 times in the last 6 months. The staff works so hard & really pushes out some beautiful rolled ice cream & amazing milkshakes. The only reason you wouldn’t be in & out of this place in a jiff is because Friday & Saturday nights they are busy. It is worth the wait in line for the absolute magic you will consume. I guarantee you there is something you will like / you can even modify to make it vegan or dairy free if you so wish, & you wouldn’t be able to tell this difference. Gonna go dream of this yummy place…

We arrived in Lancaster from Pittsburgh for a two day conference. There were 23 people in our group, almost all teens. One teen was celebrating her 18 th birthday. After a wonderful dinner at the Southern Comfort we walked back to get ice cream. As soon as we opened the door and they saw our group they said wait outside, you are clogging up the line. This was 930, it was raining, and there are no street lights outside. We kept the door open so we could see our students. They began firming telling us to close the door, the air conditioning was on. At this point, the negative attitude and unfriendly behavior of the staff was over the top. What we hoped would be a nice birthday experience turned into an unpleasant experience with less than kind, disrespectful, and paternalistic staff! We will not be coming back to this place. On top of that a family of three, who told us they drove for two hours to get some rolled ice cream, arrived before closing and were also met with similar attitude, “We are not taking any more orders “ ! It again had a tone that was unpleasant, disrespectful, and very...

As soon as you walk in, you are always greeted with a smile from the staff and if there are other customers, you can see the excitement on their faces as they observe the unique method of their ice cream being made before them. Every cup is personalized and handcrafted from the handwritten name on your cup to the excellent array of flavors to toppings to syrups you choose yourself to just how it's made, one batch from scratch a time. No matter who is working, I have always felt welcome and excitement just by walking through the door and that kind of experience, it's not something you can find everywhere. Recently, they've also added food, a variety of beverages, and seasonal options to their menu. So there's always something new to try or see. When it comes to seating, there may not always be room and there may be a line, but there is always entertainment from the games to the conversation. But honestly, this ice cream, not only is the science behind it unique and mesmerizing, but your tastebuds keep you coming...

I went with my daughter and her girlfriend because it's downtown Lancaster. Not the safest place around, especially after dark. But we thought the uniqueness of the ice cream would make it worth it. I thought parking would be a hassle but someone was pulling into traffic in front of us and we were able to grab their spot right out front. Fortunately It wasn't very busy. We don't like big crowds when we eat. The staff was extremely friendly and they appeared to enjoy their jobs. It was interesting to see the process, but it took a while and I would rather have sat for most if it. The ice cream was good but not exceptional as we had expected. It certainly appeared delicious. With the flavors and toppings I chose I thought it would be fantastic, but I was somewhat disappointed. I think sometime in the future we'll try it again. Hard to judge overall from just one visit. We all would have been more comfortable visiting a location outside the city in a " friendlier "...
