Sat at the bar with my son. Sarah, the bartender was very attentive and was fast with our drink order. We ordered the crab Rangoon dip appetizer. It looked great. Came out hot with a bunch of fried wonton chips and half mini pitas for dipping. The flavor was lacking from the start. Basically just seasoned, hot cream cheese. There was no crab or crab flavor and the almost $14 price tag was over-the-top ridiculously expensive. Nashville got chicken sandwich came with pickle slices and was quite flavorful. I ordered the sauce on the side and was really pleased. Not too spicy but just enough. Add a little ranch to round it off. I'd definitely order this again. My son enjoyed the olive burger but I was not a fan of the chopped olives creamed on top. Just give me some olives and mayo. Call me old school but don't overthink something that's tried, true and simple. It came with cheddar cheese which to me is not needed. I would not order this personally even though I'm a huge fan of olive burgers. Fries: I'm not sure when bars and restaurants decided that fresh fries are the way to go? Unless you using the proper potatoes, icing them down and rinsing the starch and are doing a double fry to ensure proper crispiness, you aren't making good fries. These soggy, mis-prepared fries were seasoned with Parmesan cheese and some other seasonings most likely to cover the lousy cook with no crisp whatsoever. Prices are quite high here and I'm very happy to pay those prices for high quality, superior, good tasting food. Unfortunately, it just didn't deliver enough to justify the cost. Over $75 for a bar lunch for 2. No thanks. Not again for me. Service was good 4.5/5 Food was mediocre 2.5/5 Prices/value was absent...
Read moreI went to this establishment last year and had a bad experience. Drinks were not good and I had a chipped piece of glass in one of the drinks. The person I was with was a bartender at another restaurant and told me to just told me to let it go. So I did, and told my self that I just would not return back.
I was convinced by another friend to give the other side a try so we did. We sat outside. Great environment clean area. We get our order taken. My friend is a regular and states that she comes her a lot because they take Gluten allergies seriously and will make modifications for her. So we order. She orders pad Thai with gluten modifications along with a black dragon roll with gluten free modifications. I ordered pad Thai regular and California roll.
Our food comes out we get two black dragons. Then the pad Thai comes out and my friend asked if this was the gluten free. The server was unsure so she took it back to the kitchen and return saying that they pretty sure it was the gluten free. I’m responding well is it gluten free or not because she can get sick if she consumes it. She responds again I’m pretty sure. Ok no problem. I then responded hey we didn’t order two dragons. We ordered one dragon and one California. Turns out the California wasn’t even put on our order.
To sum it up I’m not coming back. I tried to give the place a second chance and I just wasn’t satisfied. Not fully knowing if the food was gluten free the first time, not getting our order correct and overall lack of communication from serve to kitchen just disappointed me. And don’t worry we still tipped...
Read moreI saw another review say that it's just upscale bar food. If you order bar food, you'll get upscale bar food, and holy crap is it good! Get the fried pickle spears, you won't be disappointed. (Cask and co. Please don't change this item ever!)
Service - Wayne was just what we needed after a stressful and exhausting week. He was attentive, and came back to check on everything multiple times. His food and drink recommendations hit the spot! It's rare that waitstaff have opinions with real descriptions. You could tell that he really liked the food he was recommending. Cask and Co is doing something right if they are letting their staff taste and enjoy everything. The result is a server like Wayne that cares and is engaged with their customers.
Ok, now on to what we had. The sushi is oh so good, the basic spicy tuna, careful, it really does have some heat :-) I like spicy, so I would recommend this basic roll.
The Marco Polo sushi roll was fantastic!
The olive burger was great, a bit too much cream cheese, I would prefer an olive tapenade, but holy crap was that thing cooked perfectly. Normally, I don't eat fries, but these were really good.
For drinks, Mee Maws Sipper which is a bourbon cocktail and it was my favorite. (It comes with the orchid)
Leo's love - My partners favorite, it's him and minty and pretty tasty.
Fancy Gin Cocktail - This one is Gin and St. Germaine and had some bubbles and was an excellent cocktail for the summer!
Come here if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed and the money is worth spending. Tip well for good service,...
