21 Nov 2023 update 🤢🤢🤢🤢 ⚠️⚠️DISGUSTING ⚠️⚠️ Lost another star to dirty tables, down to one star now. Lowering service review to 1 outta 5 and food to 2 outta 5 because of dirty table, FOOD SERVED ON DIRTY CRACKED PLATE AGAIN. !!!!! See 4 pics.... No discount offered because of this, so if it happens again I will just walk out and not return ever again. This is pathetic service and a DANGEROUS practice. It is very easy to wash dishes. THIS IS A HEALTH DEPARTMENT CRITICAL VIOLATION. YIKES 😳...

One of 3 piece of bacon was burnt, scrambled eggs perfect, french toast had a few very burnt pieces of hash browns cooked in 🤣 clean off the grill 1st people ✅.

Still being seated at dirty tables 🤢🤢🤢 see pics of 2 different tables. This is the one of the most important and simplest jobs in food service 😔 I did receive clean (and unbroken, no cracks or sharp chips ) silverware, dishes and glasses this time, thank you 😉. Maybe reconsider the paper placemats....save the earth ya know...and it hides the table, so it's difficult to see if it's clean. Also it shows if the plate was dirty on the bottom 🤣. Unfortunately this happens often so I must lower my review ⭐...

Over all 2 outta 5 stars ⭐⭐🤢🤢🤢 Stars subtracted for tables, previous dirty-broken dishes and-or silverware. I will edit review every visit to give them a fair chance to correct this...

Nice to see the hostess properly cleaning the menus , good job ✅. Waitress 1 + 2 and hostess 2 still doing a great job ✅✅ . If you like to drink water with your meal ask for a large . Sometimes it is served in a 10 oz clear glass instead of the 32 oz red glass . If ordered without ice , occasionally it will be warm but I never ask for cold. Their soda is good here too.

Tried and true :-) It's been a good 10 years since I have been to a Flap Jacks. My husband and I spent a whole weekend dating and decided we wanted to skip church and go to breakfast. We decided to go head to FJ. We pull up and the parking lot is full. We go in and are seated immediately. The hostess barely spoke to us but was nice. We take a look over the menu and decide on the cheese omelette with bacon, 3 flap jacks and a large oj for the hubby. I get the mini turkey skillet with 3 flapjacks and a decaf. I promise you, it was only about 10 minuets and we got our food! The mini skillet was still a lot of food so I can only imagine was the full size was like! The food was hot, fresh and well seasoned. Thank God! The waitress was pleasant, fast and attentive. I don't recall her name though. Actually she never gave it. I think I threw her off because I complimented her MSU Spartan shirt as soon as she got to our table. GO GREEN :-) My only gripe about anything was that the decaf was watered down. Other than that, the atmosphere was busy with people laughing, eating and I think a radio. We will definitely will be back. This was my first time here and I'm not impressed. I was looking forward to it because every time we drive by the parking lot looked packed. The hostess was cold and not welcoming. It took a while for use to meet our waitress. Upon ordering I asked for a cup for coffee and didn't receive it until after he food was delivered and I reminded her. She was nice and welcoming, but just seemed like she was managing a lot. We got the biscuits and gravy, cinnamon roll, Olive burger sub onion rings, and chicken gumbo. Everything was bland. The biscuits were dry and the gravy had a thick pudding consistency. The cinnamon roll was completely unpalatable, the dough was dry and the icing was crusted over from probably sitting in the window too long. The Olive burger was ordered medium rare and came out well done and had hardly any olive topping or olive taste. The onion rings were fine. The chicken gumbo had a nice little spiciness but was lacking in flavor anywhere else, added salt and that made it a little better but it was still pretty bland and like a bowl of mush. It's your average breakfast food place, but I would recommend you drive the extra 15 minutes ihop or another breakfast place. I would not recommend...
