When I first moved to Laramie I loved coming to Born in a Barn. The last 8 months at least it has gone very downhill. I had a host hop in to serve my boyfriend and I, and she was full of attitude. It was painful to even order through her. As we sat by the window where the food comes out, I watched a few servers run up to peoples food waiting to be ran and they would take a bite of what is on the customers plate. I'm young, I'm not easily offended especially by cussing. But I was honestly disgusted with how the servers were walking around throwing the f bomb every minute, very inappropriate conversations and just outright talking about customers right in front of my table. I've been a server. I get it, and you want to make it fun. But this was SO out of control. I ordered some traditional wings. Without fail everytime, I have to ask for extra sauce. They come out pretty dry from sauce. The second I broke into a wing and took a bite it was cold. I tried to power through it but it was so cold I was pretty disgusted. I lost my appetite. I sent it back, which of course our now server was not happy about. They took it off my ticket at least because I was not going to pay for that. There is definetly no control over the staff and no monitoring the quality of the food coming out. You have an ok chance getting some good food to come to your table, because it's just a burger these guys have made 100's of what you ordered. The problem is the laziness to put enough sauce on the wings , the attitude when you just ask for some more, the cold meat brought to your table, no manager in sight (even to personally apologize when you send your food back because of cold and raw meat), getting charged out the butt for watered down ranch you'll go through quick. I'm really hoping some things get addressed soon. Because I so badly want to go in again and have more good experiences. The last 3 times were...
Read more#BornInABarn was the perfect place to eat after a long drive to Laramie, WY. We got there close to closing but they took us in and quickly seated us, however we didn’t feel rushed. We quickly ordered, as we were hungry. Unique flavors are a passion of ours so we were excited to try some yummy wings. We got wings with #TimsSpicyGarlic A Creamy garlic and herb sauce kicked up with spicy buffalo sauce and #PinappleSriracha A Fresh, sweet sauce with a kick! Both flavors were fun, not too hot, and had lots of flavor. We also ordered the #LoadedChickenMacAndCheese which is a Smoky mac and cheese topped with grilled chicken, bacon, crunchy parmesan crumbles, and a drizzle of wing sauce. We chose the #CarolinaMustard sauce which gave it a fun, sweet flavor. I also wanted to try one of their named burgers, I’m a sucker for a named burger. I went with the unique #JonnyCashBurger it consisted of two hamburger patties, topped with pepper jack cheese, white queso, chopped jalapeno, ragin buffalo sauce, and topped with flamin hot Cheetos. I loved all the flavors and the flaming hot Cheetos were a revelation, They totally worked, and gave a great crunch. The burger wasn’t too spicy and The bun is house made. All the food was yummy and tasted fresh. Born In A Barn is a place I hope to...
Read moreOK. This is a review I don't make likely. Americans, including myself, are subject to making hyperbolic statements. I assure you that my experience with this restaurant are nothing of the sort.
Without exaggeration, this is one of the very best burgers I have found in the lower 48 (Old Salt Outpost and anything grassfed from Backcountry Burgers are the only contenders), and the quality of the beef used would stand its ground in Argentina or Uruguay. The beef is mature and grass-fed. It's cooked expertly: it It's own tallow, crispy edges, medium rare middle (unless you ask for it to be disfigured). The ingredients are fresh of respectable quality. I had caramelized hatch chilies, some solid spiced queso as toppings. Buns were surprisingly, excellent. I also had a lovely brown ale.
Service and energy were on point. The place was packed with locals. The place was welcoming and diverse, from all walks of life and views. This kind of joint that embodies the best of America. It is warm, welcoming, fair, unmatched in its quality, and a part of its local community.
If you read this review and decide to eat anywhere else, you are a fool. These burgers are America and America is a pretty damn great place when it...
