My dad and I are traveling on our way to hike in the wind River range. On our route I wanted to find a coffee shop that was locally owned and not just a chain. I came across coal Creek coffee and thought it sounded great based on the website and reviews. Boy, were they not wrong.
First of all, the town is beautiful and has so many murals and the shop itself is located in the downtown area so parking is a breeze.
From the second we walked in I instantly felt a warmth and the greeting we got from our cashier was exactly what you look for on an early day. We visited around 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday. They also happen to be playing one of my favorite bands and the cashiers wearing a shirt from that band, which absolutely made my day so much and I felt like it was serendipity!
I ordered a cold brew and my dad ordered a hot trip coffee. Both of us were astounded at how absolutely delicious they were. Not only that but they had a variety of baked goods and some of those were vegan! We got a vegan brownie to split later tonight when we're camping.
I honestly have nothing but great things to say, the bathrooms were super clean, the space itself was cozy but also airy and big. It definitely makes me consider moving out here because everyone...

I asked if they had plain iced coffee (coffee over ice) and they said yes. Ordered a sandwich and was told it'd be 20 minutes (it was about 30+). After paying (my fault, I should have just cancelled the order and left when I heard the $16+ charge), I saw that I was charged $4.20 for a specialty cold brew that came in a small cup completely filled with ice and a little coffee poured over, as well as being charged $10.90 for a $9.35 sandwich (already overpriced) as posted on the menu above the counter. Everything tastes good, but not $16 good—more like $10 good; this isn't a resort. Atmosphere is comfy, classic rock music, and high ceilings to reduce heat. Free wifi if you use your Facebook profile or provide personal information. There are many coffee shop/cafe options in the area, so I don't plan on coming back to Coal Creek if in...
Read morethe casual dining was expensive and the limited time spent on the customer service and the immediate need to include a maximum predetermined tip percentage made the experience unsatisfactory. that was before I had received the bland uninteresting meal and generic single cup of coffee, with a minimal amount of options to the blend,or the accoutrements usually available in a coffeehouse. I was very surprised by this experience and was very hungry, but I couldn't taste the food and it was impossible to eat more than a few bites, so I left, only to be more famished than when I came in. I didn't write this review for vindication, I have to give an honest assessment of my experience and not in any way insult personally or professionally, and it would not necessarily prevent me from going back again, it's just about one of the numerous meals I have had and will have again, I just happened to write about this one, and I have worked up an...
