Where do I begin? 3 years ago, I was visiting Laramie on a field trip from Colorado and my students saw this adorable storefront and asked if we could check it out. I was beyond intrigued. When we walked in, our mouths dropped, and we audibly gasped. It felt like we had been transported into some magical sweets shop! Well, that started a tradition of going every year (we just visited a few days ago). I also treated my kiddo, mom, and grandma to a tea party. They were entranced! When I had a student retreat at a cabin outside of town, my students asked if we could get cupcakes on the way for dessert that evening....of course we stopped; they didn't need to ask me twice! The food is delicious, the staff is always gracious and kind, and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Prices are bakery-esque(think $5 a cupcake), but those cupcakes are delicious and huge! The stew is drool worthy. The pina colada smoothie takes you to a tropical destination. Lattes are smooth and creamy. There are vegan and gluten-free options; probably the largest selection of GF cupcakes I've seen. You can tell that employees enjoy working there. Additionally, I have had the joy of speaking to the owner directly a few times and her humility and community mindset always impressed me. If you swing by, don't be surprised if you have a little pink sugary guest hitch a ride with you. This place is a gem in the heart of Laramie and is exactly what a small town...
Read moreIf you’ve never been to The Sugar Mouse Cupcake House, you’re missing out on a little slice of heaven! From the moment you step inside, the sweet aromas immediately captivate your senses, and you know you’re in for something extraordinary. The vibe is warm and cozy, with a whimsical touch that makes you feel like you're walking into a fairytale bakery.
But it’s the cupcakes that really steal the show. Each one is a masterpiece—fluffy, perfectly moist, and topped with just the right amount of frosting. Whether you’re a fan of classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate or adventurous combinations (try the salted caramel and lavender!), every bite is a delightful explosion of flavor. And don’t even get me started on the decoration—these cupcakes are almost too pretty to eat.
The staff is incredibly friendly, always offering great recommendations and making sure you feel like part of the Sugar Mouse family. It’s clear they pour love into every batch they bake, and it shows in the care and detail of each creation. I’ve hosted several events here as well. If you’re looking to treat yourself (or someone special), you can’t go wrong here. Whether you're grabbing a single cupcake or a dozen for a celebration, it’s guaranteed to brighten your day and leave you coming...
Read moreThis place is awesome! When my wife and I first saw it when visiting Laramie a few years ago, we went in and weren't sure what to expect. It's located on the corner right next to the Laramie women's museum which is also worth a visit. There's plenty of free street parking around. There's some outdoor seating for when it's warm out. Inside is decorated very cute - like a mouse fairy garden kind of theme. The main event are the cupcakes. Wow! Many different flavors but nothing over the top goofy or weird that's trying too hard to be "creative" or cute. We've driven up multiple times from northern Colorado and we've taken the grandkids there multiple times. We try something different every time we go. Today was the orange almond and the strawberry cheesecake. Both were moist, good cake texture - not too dry or dense, and great flavors. In the past we've had the Oreo cookie, martzipan, lavender (a favorite), chocolate, orange chocolate and many others. Highly recommend and...
