Staff & Service My friend and I have been wanting to try this place. We went for an early dinner since they’ve been busy since opening.. Staff were friendly and attentive and service was relatively quick. It was easy to split the check, which was helpful. The atmosphere still feels like Speedgoat. I look forward to the new owners making the space their own.
Appetizers The miso soup was a smaller portion than expected, but nothing ridiculous, and had a nice salty, umami flavor, but still tasted fresh. The takoyaki was a bit disappointing. It seemed to be deep-fried rather than grilled making for a crispy exterior, which I actually prefer, but the interior was gummy rather than fluffy. Good smoky grilled flavor.
Sushi We ordered the salmon roll, caterpillar roll, and Lisa roll. The salmon roll was simple and well-balanced, though the salmon wasn’t as fresh as expected. It was soft in a way that was unpleasant as opposed to being tender and it was translucent, almost grey. The caterpillar roll had me confused. The eel was tempura fried, which severely dulled its flavor and made it feel greasy. I really liked the eel sauce (more soy, so less sweet). I really wish they hadn’t fried the eel. What an odd choice. The Lisa roll was a lot. It had shrimp tempura, cucumber, and spicy tuna inside and was topped with avocado, eel, masago, eel sauce, and sriracha. If you don’t like spice, skip it. I love spicy food, but it overwhelmed the other flavors. Being able to try the eel on its own definitely confirmed that I wish it wasn’t fried in the caterpillar roll. The tuna was the lingering flavor in a bad way. It had a metallic flavor and (given how much flavor the roll had overall) I wish it wasn’t the taste that I was left with.
The Menu I like seeing variety on a menu. I was so excited to see a wide offering of appetizers from fried foods to salads. I LOVE that they have ramen (omg, I can’t wait to try it! I saw others who had ordered it and it looked and smelled delicious) and a variety of teriyaki. The sushi menu is too big. There’s not enough variety among rolls to justify so many and way too many have crab, cream cheese, or both. Make it easier on your customers and kitchen staff and cut back.
Overview We had a middling experience for our first time, but didn’t want to give a lower rating because we are so excited to try the ramen. I would love for this place to be regular for us, I just want the quality of the fish to be better and for the menu to be cut back for the sake of quality. I have no problem trying you guys out again, especially for that ramen. I want to have a ramen place in town for those cold Laramie winter days.
We'll be back! I really want to...
Read moreThe restaurant presentation itself went from very good to unacceptable in my experience. I initially became acquainted with this establishment not long after opening when a special was on the menu offering a sampling of foods that I’d be interested in ordering anyway. I was treated very well and observed clean floors, prompt table cleaning and was given no reason to suspect any food safety issues or anything else that could prompt a non-scheduled visit from the health department. I became a regular and 1 specific employee learned the menu items I tended to order more than others. Another to lesser degree. A time came when I needed to scale back for health and financial reasons. When I returned after weeks of staying away, the establishment wreaked of cigarette smoke with a faint grey cloud, both of which got worse during the time I was there. When the second employee mentioned above came to check on me, I reported the above to him stating that it smelled like someone was smoking in a doorway or the kitchen stating such was NOT okay. Playing dumb, he pointed to the front door asking if that was the one I was speaking of. I told him no, repeating the kitchen or a different door – emphasizing again, that such is NOT okay, still playing dumb he said “It isn’t???” and I emphasized NO, and that I would be willing to give one more chance before contacting the health department. Upon my return weeks later, the establishment smelled like “fresh air” air freshener which led me to suspect that something was being masked. Though not impressed, I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt with consideration of going back at least one more time. The consideration was no more when the employee, a matter of feet away, mocked me about the smoke to the other. Though I was thanked for returning, it was too late. *NOTE: I relayed to those on the floor at the times of the above visits, that I may or may not contact the health department and/or write a review about the experiences.
It appears that whomever is responding to review comments is scripted with no intention of actively making...
Read moreBejo Dua Sushi and Ramen delivers an exceptional dining experience on every front—from the first warm greeting to the final, satisfying bite.
Their menu is nothing short of expansive, with an impressive array of sushi, ramen, and Japanese-inspired dishes that cater to both adventurous and classic palates alike. Each plate is crafted with care, bursting with flavor and freshness, and presented with an artful touch that reflects their culinary pride.
What truly sets Bejo Dua apart, however, is their service. The staff goes above and beyond, treating every guest like a regular and every concern with sincere attention. As someone with a severe avocado allergy, I was not only met with understanding but with proactive diligence. The staff double-checked ingredients, communicated with the kitchen, and made thoughtful suggestions to ensure my meal was both delicious and safe—something that, unfortunately, is all too rare.
The atmosphere complements the cuisine perfectly: clean, calm, and inviting. The space feels like a haven, allowing you to unwind and savor your food without distraction or rush. Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or a leisurely dinner, Bejo Dua offers a blend of quality, care, and tranquility that is increasingly rare in the dining world.
In short, Bejo Dua Sushi and Ramen isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a place where hospitality, taste, and trust come together. I can’t recommend it...
