LongHorn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Laredo

I am sad to review this. It was a disaster. I went several hours before dinner to drop off a birthday cake for the surprise. Later, when we arrived, we were seated. Waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to the table. Finally server came. Took drink order, ordered appetizer and main course. Another 15 minutes go by and I had to ask another server for our drinks. 10 minutes later he shows up with drinks. I'm not sure if he had any other tables in my area because we never seen him pass by.

30-40 minutes go by and the main course is served. He got several of the orders wrong after confirming when ordered. I can't eat sour cream, can't stand it. I ordered my baked potato with everything on the side and no sour cream. When I got my plate, I trusted it was correct. It wasn't. Instead of butter, they put extra sour cream. I didn't notice it. It looked like butter. I put it in my potato. After I found out it was not butter, I mentioned it to the server and he said he will bring butter. Potato was full of sour cream and he didn't offer to exchange it for a new one. Couldn't eat it.

He never brought the fried onion appetizer. Told me he was going to bring it right away. I told him the appetizer is before the meal. Appetizer cancelled. He never brought out the Cesar salads for everyone (4). He then brought it after we finished eating. :( Salads not eaten.

Then I get up to ask the server to bring the cake. Couldn't find him again! Asked another server. I requested the cake to be opened and recognize the birthday people with the traditional song. They said sure, no problem. This was supposed to be a surprise. I said that. About 15 minutes later, he comes to the table and says he is going to bring the cake. Poof, surprise gone! He comes back with the wrong cake. Leaves. Comes back eventually with my cake. Left it on the table and left. It was still in the package like I brought it. All my work on planning the surprise was gone in an instant. Very upset! This was a very special day and it was ruined with a easy task.

At that point, I was livid. I didn't want to talk to anyone because I would have gone off on them. It was better to just leave. I paid the bill as it was given to me. It was not cheap. Didn't try to ask for discounts. Looks tacky when your with the love of your life, celebrating her birthday and anniversary and you are complaining about the bill. It was just a very bad experience.

Don't take this review as if it happens all the time. I'm sure majority of the servers are great. If you notice something not right from the beginning, talk to manager or request new server. Trust me,...

On June 9th, My family and I wanted to celebrate my daughters birthday with a good dinner at Longhorn Steak House here in Laredo, Texas. I called in via phone to see if I could make a reservation for 15 people and they advised me that they don't take reservations. I understood and went an hour in advance of the time I had told the rest of my guests to meet me there at Longhorn Restaurant. My wife gets there and they tell her that it is about (1) hour wait and we said " Great " We are in perfect time to meet our Guests and be ready by the time everybody else gets there.

Well, after 1 hour and 20 minutes went by , we still had not been given a table, suddenly a group of 8 people get to the entrance and advise to the host that they had a " Reservation" for them and that they were ready to come and take their seats. The host checks with the Manager Edward Perez and he gives orders to let them have the now available table.

this table should have been our table , but was given to another party of people who just got there. I asked the Host why they had jumped out spot and he claimed that this people are friends of the Manager.

They also agreed that this was not right , but they were just following orders. I asked to talk to Manager and advised of what happened and he advised they were going to seat us next, i asked why this people were accepted a " Reservation" and we were not. I told him they were not following their own rules. Rules should apply to everybody the same.

it is not my fault that he is not my friend and that I don't get special favors, like his friends do. I asked him to explain to me why he was treating us different and just told me ... " I don't have to give you explanations and turned around and left me talking to myself!!

I felt so humiliated in front of my family and guests....

I sincerely don't recommend this restaurant and they might treat like me and make you feel like a pest.

Management is very " Un-proffessional ""

We left the restaurant after a total of 2 hours waiting and feeling huniliated .... we took the party of (15) people and ate somewhere else where we were really " Appreciated "

• WHAT A HORRIBLE ...

Everything we expected to happen happened. My wife and I had longhorn steakhouse in Austin for the first time and wow it was worth every penny. when we heard it was opening here in Laredo we wondered if it would match the experience. Every time a new restaurant opens up we usually wait about a month before we go so the staff gets some experience and less of a chance of a screw up. On this day though we couldn't resist so we stopped by. Walking in i had the mindset of it's not going to compare to the one in Austin and it was a matter of time till something was going to go wrong. The very first thing that caught our eye was the trash on the floor when we signed in. First thing that came to mind was management and how employees walked right by it and nobody picked it up. There was a huge line as expected but we noticed that there were about 5 tables that just needed to be cleaned but for about 15 minutes these tables were not cleaned and that was less time we had to wait if they were cleaned. When we finally sat down we were welcomed by our waiter and I have to say he did very well. Here comes the good part the food! By this time we were very iffy about how it would tast but I gotta say two thumbs up! It was on point just like in other cities. I gave this review a 3 out of 5 because of the trash in the entrance and the staff still needed some more time keeping cool when having a packed house. Anyways I hope this helps I know I made this into a story but it's 5:38am and I got a cold from hell so can't sleep might as well do a review 👍Oh yea we will go back very good...
