I wanted to eat here because I had seen the ads and reviews, I was really hoping to have a good experience.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a man, sat us down in a booth. The place was pretty empty.
He took the order; caldo de res, gorditas, eggs and bacon and our drinks.
When he brought the drinks, I was surprised by how much ice it had, so I ended up with just a few sips.
He brought us the caldo de res and it was spilling on the bottom plate. It was warm not hot, it looked like it was heated in a microwave. The caldo de res tasted good, only the tortillas smelled like preservatives.
After 15 minutes passed and the gorditas and bacon and eggs did not arrive. The waiter didn't ask us anything either, nor looked our way so I could get his attention.
Some men arrived and were seated at a table next to us (the place being almost empty) and they had ordered at least 15 minutes after us. They brought their order quickly, they finished eating and chatted with the waitresses, apparently they are frequent customers.(great for any business)
Seeing that our waiter did not approach us or turn to see us, I decided to call the waitress who immediately collected the dishes from the table next to us and I politely asked her I wanted to cancel my order, at this point half an hour had already passed. She told me what was happening was that they were serving a large table, (which I did noticed when we arrived) BUT what happened with the order of 5 men who arrived 15 minutes after us got their plates and even finished eating while ours wasn't even getting ready.(I didn't tell her that) I told her that I understood that they were very busy, but I had waited for half an hour or more.
Finally the first male waiter arrived with the ticket and gave us the same explanation of the large table but still, I was already aware that there was a large table before us but it also did not explain how the order of these men was so fast and they even finished eating and left. It made no sense to me how the cook couldn't get 2 scramble eggs and bacon but yet they were able to serve a table of 5 man with pretty big plates.
I wasn't going to argue on this, things happen. I paid, left a tip, told him no worries I hope the day gets better for you guys and left to another place just to get something to eat for my son and I.
I really really wanted to try their food, on the good note I can only rate their...
Read moreWent to eat there 02/16/2012 in the AM... The young lady seated 6 of us at a table with 3 chairs. I asked to be moved and she said.. Let me clean a table.... She moved us and left.. The waitress came and asked us what we wanted to drink... we placed the drink order and we waited for a minutes she finally came back with the drinks. And left... I stayed wondering what was going on... I finally flagged her down after about 10 minutes. I asked her can we please get some menus? She rolled her eyes and said... Oh Ok... She brought menus and we then again waited for another 5 to 7 minutes before she took our order. We place the order and waited for 57 minutes, when I finally asked... Where is our order?? She said... We are really busy, let me check... FYI.. Not that busy.. to make us wait 57 minutes for our food. She brought out my sons plate. The pancakes were ice cold, where they had been sitting out.. Not even under a heated light... I told her I need to talk to manager and she brought out a manager. He apologized and proceed to tell me he would fix all the food. He took my sons and granddaughters plates and mine, Brought other plate back.. When I cut the pancake for my son... IT WAS RAW.. SO Disgusting! At their current prices, I would rather go to La Posta in Old Meailla; pay same prices, great food and a historic experience. If Delicias lowered their prices, I would come more than once a year.
Today is 8/16/2018...I am literally sitting inside the restaurant giving this place ONE more try! So far, menus prices are ridiculous (that has not changed), but the salsa is still good if you add the limes they give you with your water. So, I've gotten my food and the rest of my review us: Food is still just good, plain, but good (definetly not with the high prices). I got the combination #2 (relleno poblan, beef taco, one cheese enchilada w/ beans & rice) for $13.09 (all sides roughly $3.50) and it was just meh. At La Posta Dr Mesilla the combination plate (red enchilada, red Chile meat, two beef tacos w/rice & beans) for $10.95 and the food, service and establishment is impressive. Look up menues on line and compare (Google Photos too), don't take my word for it. I'm a native born and raised Las Cruces woman, I have been here since Delicias opening day, and I won't be back again. Its truly...
