SUPER EXPENSIVE TO SAY THE LEAST. The service was ok for a small little place like that but I can say in comparison to other near by restaurants in Las Cruces- this spot is simply overpriced. The fish tacos and the fish plates are expensive. To make a close comparison -Miguel's restaurant nearby has the 3 fish tacos for $14 and shrimp cocktail Lg for $14 for $14 dollar each , but here in this small shack ( No more than 6-8 tables) you find both items at $18 each. So technically each fish taco is $6 each!!! The small shimp cocktail here was $16, while the Lg one is $18+.The average fish tacos in Las Cruces range from $2.50 -$4, but clearly this place has made a way to sell them at $6. The owner tried to make a claim that she sells it by FILLET piece not by the TACO. Anyways, the food itself for that price could have be plated better. The fish fillet plate we order was no bigger than 5-6 inches long and with a side of mexican rice and 1 lime, again for $18. The owner tried to justify our $87 ticket for 2 adults and 2 children as being what food ranges around here. She clearly lied. For overpriced tacos, I would rather go to a better high end spot not this small shack-that does not even offer chips and salsa for dining customers. Miguel's restaurant will definitely be our go to next time. The 4.6 rating was what made us come to this place. Which left us beyong...
Read moreWe discovered Mariscos Boca Del Rio Y Comida Mexicana in Las Cruces, NM, through a quick Google search, and what a find! This small, family-owned restaurant is tucked away next to a carwash, so it’s a bit tricky to locate, but trust me, it’s worth the effort.
When we arrived, we were the only ones there, which made the experience feel intimate and cozy. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home.
We both ordered the Beef, Potato, and Green Chili burritos, and they were absolutely delicious. The highlight for us was the homemade tortillas—they were so fresh and flavorful that we couldn’t resist ordering extra to take home.
If you’re looking for authentic, homemade Mexican food, I highly recommend this place. It’s a true hidden gem, and we’ll definitely be back next time...
Read moreI'm originally from Southern CA and these tacos were so reminiscent of typical SO Cal Mexican. Don't get me wrong, I love New Mexican Mexican but it's VERY different. The Carne asada was flavored nicely with the meat being tender. No beans and rice at all as options on the menu anymore (they're beans were good when they served them too). They now serve you a baked potato (Why would I want a baked potato with my tacos or sandwich?) They've increased their prices and taken food away ($11 bucks for 3 tacos and no sides) so, you're getting less for more money now. They stopped serving fresh chips and salsa. This place used to be one of my favorite places in Las Cruces to get tacos. Now it's too overpriced for what...
