After a refreshing stroll and lunch, I sought respite from the midday heat and the lingering warmth of a delicious green chile meal. I discovered New Mexico Snow, a charming shop offering delightful flavored shaved ice. They also have a great selection of Las Cruces-themed t-shirts and souvenirs.

The shop buzzed with vibrant energy. As the "mixologist," I crafted a small shaved ice with blueberry, watermelon, and tiger's blood, topped with a snow cap. I then retired to the outdoor patio. I stopped by while visiting NMSU last week and was really disappointed to see AI-generated art all over the shop. From the logo to the merch, nearly every design seemed to be made with AI. It’s disheartening to see a space that could uplift local or student artists instead relying on mass-produced AI imagery. When I brought this up to the staff, they were dismissive and seemed uninterested in having a conversation about it. I hope this shop reconsiders how it supports creativity...

Hands down one of the best places we’ve gone to! The shave ice is on point and SO good. We come down from Austin to visit my mom in LC, and had always looked for a place for raspas, and could never find a place that was good. But now we have our go-to spot! Plus, the vibe and customer service is excellent! Love the graphic art created (including their beautiful merch)! Can’t wait...
