I tried this restaurant for the first time on 22 Dec 2022, and I think around that time, the restaurant was still fairly new because there weren't a lot of customers in the restaurant...or perhaps it's because we went there on a Thursday evening and it was close to Christmas? Regardless, all I can remember is how excellent the food and service were during that visit and as a result, I made it a mission to return for round 2. Unfortunately, I didn't think it was going to take me nearly 15 months to revisit this restaurant...but, all that matters is I actually kept my word. My wife and I returned to this restaurant on 1 Mar 2024, ~ 6:45 pm, and I'll start by saying that everything was outstanding as I remembered it.
When we walked in, we were greeted by probably one of the friendliest hostess I've experienced here in Las Vegas. She allowed us to be seated right away which was appreciated since we arrived significantly earlier than our reservation time. I didn't get her name but she had braces and was the only one working that front podium when we arrived. After we got seated, our server, Steven N., introduced himself with warmth and with such professionalism. He carefully explained all the daily special items, to include adding some personal touches to his explanation...meaning, he didn't sound robotic or monotone at all. Throughout the night, Steven maintained his efficiency and attentiveness, ensuring everything was good, yet, he balanced it well and didn't pester us like you experience at a car dealership or furniture store.
We ordered the Filetto, Daily Special (Veal Chop), Wild Mushroom Soup with Lobster Meat (Soup of the Day), Crabmeat Bruschetta (Appetizer of the Day); and for dessert, the Vanilla Bourbon Cake (Daily Special). Everything, to include the dessert, was hands-down extraordinary...which should say a lot considering I don't enjoy dessert as much as others do. I've also attached a couple of pictures from our first visit (Cioppino and Pollo Marsala), but couldn't find the picture of our third entrée (which was the Ravioli). As I eluded to earlier, everything we've tasted at Aromi thus far, was remarkable.
Overall, this restaurant is phenomenal; from the restaurant's décor, to the superb customer service, all the way to the high quality food. This business is one of those hidden gems that needs to be everywhere in the city, to include the Las Vegas strip. I appreciate the pseudo-seclusion with its current location - it's a lot quieter whenever I visit, but this place is way too good to only have one restaurant. Prices are very reasonable and they have a great wine selection which are affordable...unlike those other restaurants that mark up their bottles of wine by 125%. If you've never tried this place, then please make a reservation and head that way at the soonest - you won't be...
Read moreI seldom post on this site. However, I'd be remiss if I didn't recommend, unequivocally, without solicitation and as effusively as possible, Aromi Italian Restaurant, tucked away just behind the Bank of America branch on the southeast corner of Lake Mead and Rampart (2110 N. Rampart #110).
Don't be misled by Aromi's location. This is a fabulous, intimate restaurant with a big-city, "exclusive" feel. My girlfriend and I tonight made our second visit to Aromi, but I guarantee it won't be our last. From the time we entered the door (having made a dinner reservation just earlier that evening), we were treated like royalty. We were immediately taken to our table. No waiting, even though the place was packed on this particular Friday night. Our server tonight, Edith, was amazing: professional, personable, polite and perfectly attentive. I will make it a point to ask to sit in Edith's section the next time and every time we return to Aromi. But, we were even more blown away by our menu selections, prepared to perfection by Chef German Castellanos. Again, don't be fooled by the fact that Chef German is at a small restaurant in Summerlin. This guy is the real deal and, not surprisingly, so is his food. We were honored to chat with him after our meal. He's a total international pro, with experience at top restaurants on the Strip and elsewhere, not some paid-by-the-hour "cook."
To begin, my girlfriend and I tonight shared the house salad (Insalata Aromi) and it was amazing. Thin, tasty strips of duck, dried cherries and almond slivers generously sprinkled over a bed of mixed greens and dressed perfectly. From Aromi's extensive menu, my girlfriend ordered the rigatoni bolognese; I had the spaghetti neri (squid-ink spaghetti with scallops and lobster - just $29!). Both were spectacular. Either dish would cost twice or three times as much in a similar restaurant somewhere on The Strip.
Additionally, Aromi has an extensive wine list and a cozy bar, if you just want to hang out, have a glass (or two) of wine or beer and graze.
I consider Aromi to be a world-class Italian restaurant, and I've eaten at top restaurants throughout the world. I consider it a local treasure. Please give it a try. You won't be...
Read moreAromis is so close and most of the reviews were really good. With out-of-town company and a couple of close friends, we went there for dinner. The good: We were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. The bread was good. The person who had the chicken piccata was pleased with the dish. The chianti I ordered was lovely. The not-so-good: the Mediterranean salad was a joke. For $16 one would expect at least the bottom of the bowl to be covered. I was going to share it with my friend and took 2 bitefuls lest they have nothing left to eat. The salmon looked nice but where were those roasted vegetables they have on the description? Tiny pieces of vegetables were mixed in to the rice – ah, you better scrutinize the description “Roasted Vegetable FLAVORED Forbidden Rice.” It was disappointing to the diner to again have another plate that was so sparsely filled. Two of us had the gnocchi – truthfully it was like eating raw dough.[We took it to go and then tossed it in the trash. I asked for mine to have the alfredo sauce ON THE SIDE and skip the tomato sauce. Instead it was mixed with alfredo sauce and I had to ask for the mozzarella cheese. We asked for more of the olive oil and garlic dip for the bread and it they apparently forgot so we had to ask another server. The person who ordered the chicken piccata asked them to box the rest for her. When she asked about it, they seemed clueless. They did deliver it – who knows from where. Was it already in the trash? In a pile of other food? We will never know. I was so hopeful it could be our go to place but I will not be returning there. Proceed with caution. Sadly we did not think to...
