Handel's Ice Cream: The Perfect Way to Indulge Your Sweet Tooth
My brother and I were visiting our parents in Las Vegas. We had just finished a delicious dinner and were craving something sweet to top off our meal. I decided to search Yelp for a highly-rated ice cream parlor nearby, and Handel's Ice Cream popped up as a top recommendation. Without hesitation, my brother and I hopped in the car and headed straight to the parlor.
Once we arrived, we were greeted by three friendly and patient young employees who were eager to help us navigate the menu of flavors. We decided to try a few different flavors before making our final selections. Each flavor we sampled was incredibly delicious and made it difficult to choose just a few. Finally, we decided to get a couple of "samplers," each containing four scoops of our favorite flavors.
The flavors we chose - banana, black cherry, pistachio, vanilla, and green tea - were all delicious. In fact, we enjoyed them so much that we decided to return to Handel's the following night for another round of ice cream indulgence. This time, I treated myself to a whole cone of blackberry flavor, which was absolutely satisfying!
The history of Handel's Ice Cream is also interesting. It goes like this: In the summer of 1945, Alice Handel crafted the sweetest of legacies in Youngstown, Ohio. Using fresh fruits from her backyard garden and her own personal recipes, Alice lovingly created ice cream that quickly became a neighborhood favorite. This marked the birth of Handel's Ice Cream, a brand renowned for its commitment to quality and...
Read moreOpened before the were ready. I got a lg. hurricane and 2/3 of it was wrong. The Ice cream and 1 of the 2 toppings were wrong. The layout is A mess. once everyone realizes its open its going to be even more chaotic trying to get in. There were only about 40 people in line or waiting for their order and it was a hot mess. They needed Twice as many employees to come close to running things right.. Still good Quality product obviously but i would take an extra 15 min and drive to the south west. At least your order will be right and won't take 20 min After ordering to get your dessert.
(Added response to question) when the store is moderstely busy there is no place that leads the line outside, so everyone crowds inside. Its not the sign inside its the fact that it is big enough. If it gets like south summerlin busy its going to be impossible for guests and employees. Next time I come I'll ask about the hurricane.i already...
Read moreHandel's has been hit or miss for us. We were introduced to them by friends on a trip to SoCal several years ago. Total hit! We realized there was a location in LV on Tropicana not terribly far from our home so when the kids were home for Christmas, we took them and their husbands for ice cream and it was a total miss. The portions were too small for the prices and the service kind of sucked. It also didn't even taste as good as it had the first time for some reason. Handel's almost lost us there but we were going to the movies on a hot evening recently and everyone wanted a cool treat. We'd heard this location was opening so we decided to take one more shot. Total win! Great portions, friendly service and the flavors were fantastic! We feel pretty comfortable coming back for more at this location and we're at 2/3 good experiences now so we may try other locations as well but this one is...
