Of course moving from Hawaii I craved Korean bbq take out plates with them variety of sides.. and this the ONLY place in the north. My cousin told me there’s one in a food court in Chinatown and another all the way south. I’m just grateful there’s something near me that reminds me of home!
With that said.. even back home.. there was always something specifically I liked from each place.
I came to Jin’s specifically for their meat Jun and what makes it for me when it comes to any meat Jun— is their sauce, which is simple and good. I didn’t care for their pickled radish and jalapeños. But I loved their Mac salad!
My parents got Combo with Kalbi and their version of spicy chicken (separately in a box). They ate all the kalbi but said it was different taste from Hawaii. Their spicy chicken was basically fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce and was good in its own way. But what my dad really wanted was grilled chicken with spicy flavor on it, but he still ate it all cause this family don’t waste food 😅 The corn, seaweed and broccoli was basic but good too. I didn’t care for their soy sauce potatoes.
Overall, I will definitely go back to try different stuff and...
Read moreOmg, Jin's reminds me of Hawaii Style Korean BBQ plate lunch spots. I'm so happy Jin's is in Las Vegas. Order at the counter, then choose your side dishes.
I ordered the mixed plate. Pick 2 items + 4 sides + rice =$10.50. Meat Jun + $6, Kalbi + $10 = $26.50+tax. I had the Jap chae, bean sprouts, cucumber kimchee, pickled onions. All the sides were delicious but I would not order the bean sprouts again. It lacked flavor to me. I'd order the shoyu potato instead. The kalbi was ono. So tender and flavorful. The meat Jun was also delicious. The serving was huge but then again, it cost me $26.50+ tax.
Here are my recommendations for the restaurant. Slice the meat Jun. It's hard to eat it especially that they didn't provide me with a knife to cut it. Every bite I took, the egg did not stick to the meat that it fell apart. Also, put the sauce with the food in the container instead of in the bag loose. By the time I got back to my office, the sauce spilled all over, so I didn't even get to taste the sauce. It was on the bottom of my bag. Sigh...
Overall, the food and service is good. Come...
Read moreMy partner and I wanted to get some Korean Fried Chicken and this place popped up since we couldn't make it to our usual spot.
It was busy and the place is a little small, but we were helped in about 8-10 mins. The menu is pretty straightforward.
I got the Honey Soy Garlic with Rice, Broccoli, and Shoyu Potato. My partner got the Lemon Pepper Chicken, cream corn and broccoli. Chicken was crunchy, good glaze/rub. Both were the "Mini" size. The broccoli is served cold but it has a good flavor. Shoyu Potato was unexpected, however they didn't keep it on the line or in the warmer. I am not sure if they're meant to be hot, but they weren't consistent temperature but the taste was great. We also shy away from cream corn/salad type dishes but it was worth getting.
The portions are very big if you get combo plates. The minis were just right portion wise but if you want more veggies you definitely should.
Want to come back and try some of the...
