Been coming here for 22 years. It was supposed to be a special evening. We were a party of five and there were four other people not related to us at the table. Everything started when we were served lukewarm soup with no spoons. I asked hospital and Waitress disappeared. After she didn’t come back for five minutes, I asked a different Waitress respond. She told me that the boss says “no more spoons“. When it came time for dinner, we found the chef to be very entertaining. Everybody was served steak early on, but the shrimp appetizer was not served. I asked if there was in fact, a shrimp appetizer, and the chef replied that he’s cooking it now. People were already eating their steak. I was sitting there with a complete empty plate. He then proceeded to make everybody steak and chicken And shrimp. I watched while everybody was served their vegetables and meats. I then received fried rice. I was eating the fried rice while everybody completed their dinner. At that time he first pulled out a lobster tail and a fillet mignon at another one in my party had ordered. I had asked for the lobster to be well done, and I felt that he was somewhat passive/aggressive and sarcastic presenting it that way. I was also concerned because he was handling the poultry with a spatula and then cross contaminating using the same spatula immediately on the other foods. I have been eating Teppan style cooking all my life, and I have always seen the chef wipe the spatula after handling chicken before touching another item. Nonetheless, we eventually got our food. Not tasty at all. I don’t even think the management was aware of what was going on because we were pushed off into a corner. Not even offered so much is a ice cream or cocktail as a comp for what we went through. Not up to the usual Osaka standards. On a positive note, the chef had very fancy knife...

I forgot to post a review/provide comments on Google after my Yelp post for my 5 Nov 2020 visit here. Here is what my Yelp review states:

My daughter and I visited this place for a middle-of-the-week dinner. When we walked in the doors, we were greeting immediately by a wall...definitely wasn't expecting that. :) The food quality and service were outstanding. Normally, I'm not a fan of huge menus because it has a tendency to be overwhelming; however, I understand the need to have a huge menu at this place due to the variety of sushi (pictures provided on the menu), along with their conventional, Japanese entrees. Needless to say, we will be back some other time since the experience was great. We'll probably eat here over a weekend when the restaurant is heavily populated to determine if our rating remains the same in reference to service and quality. The only recommendation I have for the restaurant is to look into renovating. I know this is advertised as the first Japanese restaurant in LV, but that doesn't mean to have the appearance of leaving the original carpet, paint, lighting, etc. in the restaurant - there are other restaurants in the city that look a lot more modern and appealing to the eye for some customers. Although, this doesn't affect MY rating, it may affect others' ratings that criticize restaurants for every little thing. I will be back and I recommend this place to others (I also recommend the beef teriyaki - tastes better than most Japanese Hibachi restaurants in this city)!! NOTE: This restaurant appeared on Food Network's Triple D w/Guy Fieri...search/watch the video online.

Since then, I've visited one other time and the visit was still outstanding - no changes to my original review/comments....

My husband and I have been coming to osaka Japanese bistro for 14 years. . It is by far the number one sushi place we've ever been to. We like both locations on Sahara and the one on Eastern and horizon and the 215 freeway. . They are more of a fine dining sushi. They do not offer all you can eat which is a bummer but the food quality is outstanding. . Our favorite things are the tempora (all of it) lol... The beef teriyaki dinner bento Box we love the Lisa Lisa roll, we love the 911 roll, the 777 roll & the Virgin roll. Their spicy garlic edamame is the best, Their Ginger dressing on their green salads amazing. They have very good Fried rice and appetizers such as pot stickers, egg rolls, Chicken teriyaki skewers, beef teriyaki skewers, Their Japanese lasagna baked roll is our favorite. They have garlic scallops that are very good and they have some grill items that you can order and even have cooked in front of you. The Chilean sea bass is amazing and worth the money. The soup is always on point, They even had good garlic clams and other shellfish available. And you must try the jalapeno yellow tail sashimi. . They also have a loyalty card program that you can sign up and add points value to a running tab so that you can cash it in as a perk. . Chef John is amazing hes been there as long as we've been going there on horizon ridge please say Hi to chef John he...
