I've been to Smoothie King on multiple occasions and always have had good experiences. I was from out of town and thought I'd grab a smoothie after a session of hot yoga. There were 2 young boys working this night. It was about 1 hour before closing time and when I walked in and there was music blaring so loud that I had to speak in a loud voice to place my order and the cashier had a hard time hearing me. HINT...turn the music down. The boys were apparently trying to show off in front of this girl who was sitting at a table (whom I believe they knew), and were dancing, singing, and taking their time making my smoothie due to multiple distractions. The place didn't look clean and appeared to be in chaos. After patiently waiting for the party to die down, I had to stand up from the table and walk over to the counter, providing a nonverbal gesture to the one boy that I meant business and just wanted my smoothie. He made goo goo eyes with the girl and they were mouthing words to one another, and again, I was annoyed...just wanted my smoothie. I'm all about having fun at work and young people in love, but this is a place of business. So he opened the smoothie canister, was about to pour the contents into a cup and realized it was too liquidy and added ice, continued to blend it then handed me my smoothie. Not impressed. I've had Smoothie King smoothies before and this was not made right. I was so annoyed that I called the shop a few times the next day and kept getting a recording. This is a good example of what happens when you let kids run...
Read moreI think I've only been to a Smoothie King once before a long time ago , but can't remember where. Anyway , I was in the area and found it on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Good selection of smoothies , bowls , protein bars , and pre-made drinks in the cooler. I got the Angel Food which is Strawberry / Banana and was very good. It was not sugary sweet , natural like it should be. I just think the name Angel Food makes you think of the cake , not a Strawberry / Banana Smoothie. Ha ha.
The place was very clean and organized and had a few tables and a few customers sitting there. It was steady business , but not too busy when I was there waiting. My cashier was nice young girl , but spoke very softly and I could barely hear her. I can't hear that well to begin with since I was in the military and I'm getting a little older now , but in a customer service job like I work myself , you have to talk a little louder to your guests. Not trying to put her down , I know some of the younger generation is not as vocal as we were growing up and they are more tech savvy.
I will come back some time and will download the app since I don't live very far from and I'm frequently in the area. I would like to try more smoothies and I think the quality is a little better than Tropical Smoothie. I will look more at the menu to see what I want...
Read moreOG Triple OG of Smoothie Kings. I don’t know who needs to hear this but Smoothie King is literally my favorite place in the world. When I’m here, it’s like how kids are when they are at Baskin-Robbins lol
This SK was the first one I ever went to. My first drink ever is still my go to — Lemon Ginger Spinach —
Price: Prices recently went up by about $1.50. Your price points are around $8-$10 per drannnk.
Food: As mentioned, Lemon Ginger Spinach is my favorite. My second go to is the Vegan Mocha Espresso. Give me all the caffeine.
Service: Honestly, this five is because how much I love smoothie King. The first time I came it was epic, this time it was mediocre. Let’s bring back epic-city, cool?
Environment: Super clean here, everything is usually pretty tidy. Outdoor seating is a nice touch.
NTT [[Next Time Try]]: One day I’m going to try the smoothie bowls. As of right now I’m pretty good with inhaling my smoothie through a straw.
Smile, eat, hydrate. Hope to see you...
