Incredibly unsatisfying, I had a bowl of Poke and you only get one protein and have to pay extra for more, get three proteins at my usual poke store for the same price. The Ahi had an after taste which was just plain gross, and they didn't even bother to mix the bowl with the sauce so by the time I ate it, it was just a sad bowl of greens with ahi and some sauce in the middle. Thought I would at least be satisfied with the boba tea, The taro was great as taro usually is, but the boba itself had a gross aftertaste as well, so once it got mixed toward the bottom I ended up tossing it out. Definitely not going to a Soho again after my first and last time there.

EDIT: Since this time I have gone to SOHO a few times more and have had better luck with ordering. I've had a couple issues since then. I ordered off postmates and had gotten the completely wrong order. I called in a couple times trying to get some help, I work about a 3 minute drive from the place but I cannot drive, so I'm forced to either walk to the store or suck it up. The manager was unhelpful in every regard and refused to take the blame for the mistake so I just had to suck it up and eat it. Was not filling at all.
Cue today February 15th, 2019 at around 12:40. I want to preface this by saying that I have worked in several restaurants in my life and never have I seen someone be this rude. I walked in after having picked up food at the cafe rio next door because I wanted a boba. I've had boba a few times since the last and they've been pretty good. There were me and two ladies in front of me, so I stood in line and made it pretty clear that I just wanted to boba to all the people working the line. After the ladies were checked out I went up to the register and told the lady I wanted boba only. She looked around, not even acknowledging me before walking off to the back. I stood there for what felt like 10 minutes before she walked out, washed her hands, put on gloves and stood at the line. The lady at the end of the line eventually decided to leave the line and help me. All I wanted was a taro milk tea with boba, took about a minute to prepare and I was out of there. I nearly lost it, but I decided to stay calm. Very disappointing service, I'm not even stopping in for boba anymore.
I raised the stars up to 2 as the food is good but the service is...
Read moreI have frequented this location several times and have yet to experience the disdain and inconsiderateness that I was met with today after a staff members mistake. I placed my pickup order at 12:35 for pick up at 1:30. After arriving at 1:27, yes I looked at my clock for accuracy since I was on my lunch break, I was handed my order in about 2 minutes, yay! Or so I thought, once I arrived back at my office, I discover that not only is my mochi completely melted, my extra sides were completely forgotten, and I have a sushi burrito nothing like what I ordered. Which lead me to return to the store with hopes of at least getting the correct order this time. Yet, I was met with a rude demeanor and told that my mochi was melted because I didn't pick up on time. Next, I was cut off, had my burrito thrown together (I truly understand being busy at lunch and needing to get order out, but this was not that) and handed my mochi in one hand and burrito in another...I wasn't even given the courtesy of being handed my order in a bag, an apology for having to drive back or for being given the wrong order (and my side order was STILL forgotten before I mentioned it again).
As I previously stated, I have had many good experiences with SOHO as a company, but this experience with this specific location and its lack of customer service or courtesy has very negatively impacted my opinion of this establishment; I am not sure if I will ever return.
Yes, everyone makes mistakes and orders can be made wrong, but the recovery of the situation is what makes the difference in the overall...
Read moreSushi burritos in the Student Union at UNLV! This place replaces the Metro Pizza on the corner inside the SU. The prices start reasonably low, and they've got a wide variety of things to please many. I found it odd that there was no sriracha (they've got it out at their other locations, but at the SU it might be a bit too abscondable--so I suggested packets). My bowl was made-to-order very quickly, was fresh and delicious. I think they're going to do well (especially considering the pizza that was formerly on 'display' for hours and the price point it was set at!) Interesting side items and sweets like miso soup, edamame, kimchi, and a variety of mochi. Remember to use your RebelCard and you won't pay sales tax, or use Dining Dollars to avoid the tax as well as maybe getting $110 for every $100 you load on your card (just use it all prior to the end of the school year). Cringeworthy: a sushi burrito place just opened recently across the street next to Cafe...
