I was so excited to take my hubby and kids here after like 2 years that we haven't been there it was okay they greet you and it was nice they had the music playing which we love it who doesn't love Banda. When you get seated, they take a while to take your order. Menu changed they used to have more options and more entrees, but they just switched it up to like what looks like a more cocktail hour menu. The waitress only came to us two times out of the time we were there they charge us for a gratuity which is okay $40 basically and I ordered a VIP tostada and I got a bowl of okay shrimp a Ceviche basically my husband ordered camarones rancheros got a bowl with 10 shrimp which the plating is beautiful yeah but it's mostly show. You know how they say you eat with your eyes well yeah you eat with your eyes cuz it's pretty but there's no quality there in the taste you get better prices great food at other restaurants and I went to this restaurant called El Puerto I believe it's called on Decatur and Lake Mead. But back then Culichi Town was amazing now it's just more of selling the atmosphere where it's at or because there's live Banda and people just relax eat appetizers and drink it's more like a bar type because food no in my humble opinion now it's more like a bar a music it's more selling that than quality of food. It was my husband myself and for my kids and we got each a plate my kids ordered it's like a Happy Meal so it was basically three kids Happy Meals there and 2 regular entrees and two tostadas two Micheladas and that was about $240. I don't mind paying good price with an amazing quality food but $240 for that no they overpriced like I said they're selling the picture basically and atmosphere looks pretty but not the food should be more of everything quality taste. But I was so excited to go back to Culichi Town because when I was there two years ago the food was still amazing the , the young ladies The Waitresses they're nice but I guess we wanted the whole package. At El Puerto Restaurant we were four kids five adults all of us had Micheladas delicious Seafood parrilladas and molcajetes an order of Empanadas order comes a dozen that cost like $24 and the green sauce is to die for. Kid you not our orders with the drinks and all the appetizers and food was a total of $286 the quality was amazing the food was delicious the atmosphere was great there's music of course there's 2 different groups that take turns playing it's way smaller but hands down 10 out of 10๐ definitely next time we great quality food great atmosphere and great people highly recommend you all going to El Puerto Restaurant Decatur and Lake Mead, Culichi Town I loved you but you changed for the...
ย ย ย Read moreThis was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Myself and a group of people got together for a celebration. While dining in the establishment it took 20 minutes to get our first drink order. When we placed our order for food we received a portion of what we had ordered. The food was not good at all. The chicken nuggets arrived soggy and full of grease and everything else was cold. When we asked to speak to the manager it took 15 minutes for him to arrive, he stopped and spoke to the people next to us and proceeded to walk away. My husband to hail him down and ask him to come back. We informed him of the issues and he said he would look into it. 30 minutes later he nor our waiter returned. People from our party started to leave and we had not received a bill yet. After someone hunted the manager down again he arrived with the bill, stated that he could not locate our waiter and advised us he had taken 20% off. After careful calculation we realized we had been charged for food and drinks we never received and that issue to another 20 minutes to clear up.
Outside of the service issue there were a couple of other problems. The establishment has a live band that plays Banda music. The musicians go out into the crowd, sing to people, and take special request. They refused to pay any attention to me when My husband requested a song but when the table next to us made the same request they played it. I am not sure if the issue was they did not understand his Spanish or maybe it was the color of his skin. Let me make something clear Hispanics come in all shades of the rainbow and apparently so does ignorance. I recorded a video of him and the way the musician turned his back on him when he made the request.
The other issue I had with this establishment was while attempting to take care of the billing situation at the register the manager was to busy eating Ramens he got from another establishment to assist the young lady in correcting the errors on our bill. The reason I know this is because he sat out in the open eating them with a couple of his friends. I don't know about some people but I am a little turned off when individuals that work at an eating establishment don't eat their own food or they eat food from somewhere else out in the public eye.
If it were not for the fact that this establishment is located in a casino and the consequence of getting black listed from all of their sister casinos we would have all walked out and not...
ย ย ย Read moreIt is rare for me to have nothing good to say about a restaurant, but that is how I feel about Culichitown. The service was poor. We stood at the entrance of the restaurant for a couple of minutes before we were even noticed. No big deal, but we asked the hostess for a recommendation, and she said she did not like that kind of food. Great, I wish we could walked out then but we had already used our points for the voucher (see below).
I watched my wife eat for a good 10 minutes until (after two requests from the waitress & manager) my food arrived. Note to staff: this is inexcusable; people who go out to eat together often like to EAT together. I could see this happening with a larger party but how could you not coordinate TWO simple orders?
I had the misfortune to order the seafood "soup", which was poor. I do not understand why they left the heads and shells on the two shrimp in the soup, but that is probably just me. The few scraps of other "fish-like" material were flavorless. I know I got a couple of small pieces of octopus because they were chewy, but they had no flavor.
My wife's deep fried sushi was just OK, and her margarita tasted like it was made from a cheap powdered mix, which I'm sure it was.
It was heartbreaking to see they replaced a good Mexican restaurant, Garduno's with this.
We were going to eat there a couple of weeks ago but there was very loud music which we did not want to deal with.
The price was just a little higher than Garduno's, and the experience was not nearly as positive. The seating and tables were new, but the ceiling and walls were all Garduno's.
You cannot just use points to pay after you've eaten - you first have to go to a kiosk and get a voucher in an amount you guess will somewhat cover your bill. You will either waste some points or have to go into your pocket to cover the balance. Not classy. That might be Station's fault, not the restaurant's.
There are some good reviews from a number of months ago - long before Culichitown opened - so they must be for Garduno's. Otherwise I think this place would average much lower.
Maybe we just did not "get" what this restaurant was supposed to be about. Maybe we ordered the 2 worse things on the menu. We have eaten all over the US and rarely have experienced...
