As a regular at multiple Mezeh’s in the area, I was very disappointed with the way the employees were so frugal with the servings here at the Laurel location. I brought someone that had never been to Mezeh raving about the food quality and both the employees serving the food were sooooooo frugal with the portions. The serving spoon they use already is a table spoon for the veggies outside of the rice, so when I ask for no rice and more greens or an extra scoop of hummus, they looked at me like you can only get one. Now I’ve been to atleast 4 other Mezeh’s in the DMV and it seems as though other Mezeh’s are just a lot more giving. They even have writing on their Togo bags promoting how they don’t charge for extra veggies. Even my guest I brought mentioned how they were so scared to put food in the bowl. It was odd. I won’t return to the Laurel location. I’ll continue going to the 2 locations I know that is more generous. Very disappointed for this location being that it’s closer...
Read moreI was very excited to try this place out as I love this style of food.
I ordered the Chicken Shwarma bowl with kale and white basmati rice. For the toppings in chose the baba ganoush, crazy feta, cabbage, roasted eggplant, olives and the yogurt dip. For the sauce I went with the recommended Harissa sauce which is not too spicy but does have a kick. The serving size is pretty large which is great for the price of a bowl. You can upgrade to steak or lamb for extra money as well but I chose to stick with chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the roasted eggplant, pure goodness! It may seem small but I love the fact that if you are eating there they give you a real bowl and silverware as well a huge glass for water, which was awesome!
Everyone there was super nice and friendly and the interior was super clean and well designed. Highly recommend this place and I will be back to enjoy other options.

Read moreI LOVE this place. The food is absolutely scrumptious and the portions are so generous. I've been here three times and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. This restaurant is similar to Cava with Mediterranean bowl selections you can pick but honestly, this is WAY better than Cava. The food is so much more flavourful and there are more varieties of toppings to choose from. Their falafel....twice as good as Cava's. I make these comparisons because Cava is so popular yet every time I visit Mezeh it's never crowded. I don't know if it's just this location but folks need to check this place out for real. I would hate to see this location leave because of lack of customers. I'm a VERY picky person, especially when it comes to my food, so when I say how good this is, it's GOOD! The only "downside" is that they don't have a lot of seating and the ambiance is not as modern as Cavas. But as a takeout joint, this is it folks! Just give it a try...you won't be...
