Burlington — Local services in Laurel

Initially when I visited this store on Saturday, November 30th I was very impressed with the merchandise as well as the quality of items. I was equally impressed when I realized this store offered two sides for checkout with 7-8 registers on both sides. To my dismay only one side was open even though there were no technical issues with the registers. The store was packed with customers the line was wrapped around the store without having all the registers open because there wasn't enough cashiers. After inquiring I found out that there had been a recent dismissal of cashiers which was one of the main issues this store was not able to accommodate the masses of people on Saturday. All of the cashiers that were working that day were amazing and they were working hard to keep the line moving. I think it is a disgrace to work people as retails does and expect that employees will remain happy and eager to work for your establishment. I called the store yesterday to confirm the time they were closing before making the drive. The woman that answered the phone told me they were closing at 11pm. I arrived at 9:50pm and the entrance doors were locked. I told him what I was told over the phone and reminded him it was only 9:50pm. He let me in. Only to have the manager and her sidekick stop me from shopping at 9:53 pm. I told them what I was told and she insisted that I head to the checkout right away. I asked if I could have a few more minutes because technically the store was still opened. She said no. I like Burlington Coat Factory’s items. But their employees have mistreated me on quite a few occasions. The only reason I gave this store a two is because she gave me coupons. Ordinarily that would suffice. But I honestly only needed a few more minutes. I didn’t have much to purchase at all. She could have let me have those few minutes. Especially, because I had driven a distance...

If you’re wanting to run a quick errand or take a quick look, this store is not for you. As a Burlington lover, this is the worst store I’ve been in. I went in the store to grab ONE thing. The lines are wrapped around the store like it’s black friday, always. You would think the cashiers would be swift to get the line down. But there is no urgency. After 30 minutes of waiting, what it seems to be a manager came to help open another line, and she’s flying through the customers. The workers don’t typically care. There is no overall urgency.
