PepperJax Grill — Restaurant in Lawrence

Maaaan... I usually leave really positive reviews and I REALLY like Pepperjax, but this order was pretty disappointing :( I do want to clarify the the Doordash deliverer was great, made sure I was me before giving me my food 'cause my apartment's lay out is goofy.

Anyway, on to the order. I received very few cheese curds, I don't expect you fill the box but I shouldn't be able to see that much of the bottom. They were also very burnt/hard, 3 of them were hollow, and there was this very odd (definitely fried) something that I didn't even attempt to eat. The cheedesteak was a bit better but the green pepper was kinda just thrown on. The slices were thin but quite a few were pretty wide. Taste was good, the meat was a lil more chopped up than usual, could've used a lil more cheese, and the end of it is basically just bread.

I've ordered from here maybe 3 times before and have absolutely loved it. Never had it before and can say that this place has the BEST cheese curds EVER. So having them at this quality hurts extra bad. I know 2 stars may seem harsh but I'm going to continue to order/get it and may change it over time depending on consistency.

Servers accidentally put the meat from two orders in the wrong rice bowls. Two orders were served incorrect. This location is notorious for skipping procedure by preparing the rice and beans in the bowl before the meat has completed grilling. There were three staff members on the line and they were not busy. There was no reason to rush the order. Having not wanting to waste that much food and have them remake our order, we just ate what we were served. When we alerted the manager to what had happened, he didn't apologize or offer to make things right. He just said ok. One of the staff members who clears the tables came by to clear our tray and she did apologize after we told her what had happened. Very disappointing on how this was handled. I wish I could leave a zero star. Their food is ok, but they have no respect for their patrons. I was repeatedly insulted by a crazy person, and I was kicked out for voicing my opinion towards this person. This person actually left before me, and I was simply standing up for myself. As a gay man I should not be the one who tries to intervene. It was absolutely insane that I was asked to leave.
