I have lived around Jack's most of my life. Ive honestly never really ate there. About a week ago I decided to try breakfast from there because I just couldn't take the Hardee's line. In our town Hardee's is typically about 30-45minutes during breakfast hours. (Maybe less during the week but not much) I live only a couple blocks from everything in town so distance isn't really an issue. I went to Jack's and I was back home in less than 10 minutes from when I left. Food was good. I mean unexpectedly good. I Ordered a Deluxe Breakfast (Grits, Gravy, Eggs, Bacon, Biscuit, and hashbrowns) My wife got a stack of pancakes with bacon (yes that's a menu item) I get home and no bacon with my wifes pancakes. My bad. I should have checked. We are all human after all. Next day same order. This time I'm missing my hashbrowns. I checked that the bacon was in with the pancakes this time. Popped the lid on my food and it looked good. You see the hashbrowns get put in a separate back with the utensils and syrup. Dang they got me twice. Third day in a row everything was there but I barely got any grits. I mean like half what I had got the other two days. Fourth day hashbrowns missing again. I catch it this time so I park my car and walk inside. Long story but suffice it to say there was no one in the drive through. There was and elderly couple waiting for their order a elderly couple waiting to order and a young man waiting for his order. When they finally give the young man his order he didn't realize she had rung up a breakfast mean and not a lunch (they serve both between 10-11am) The manager is needed to correct this issue (She's working drive through and is the reason I don't have my hashbrowns again) The elderly gentleman waiting on his food is getting upset because he's been waiting so long and he can of course see his food sitting on the little slide tray that comes from the kitchen. The elderly gentleman waiting to or says something to the manager and she snaps back at him in a loud voice to which he says "You don't have to yell at me" she of course snaps back "I'm not yelling" Yeah you were. I normally don't stand for that. I'm a big dude and I promise I can get way louder. I hate seeing people being disrespected for asking a question like "Are you planning on taking my order" If you are working in a madhouse like the Hardee's or McDonald's I can even give you some leeway but that is not a high volume restaurant. That's what I was pleased about. I live two blocks away. I can grab breakfast and be back in 10. Well you just lost my business. I have other options and I will excise patronizing them going forward. P.S. It took so long to get my hashbrowns all of my food was cold with I got home....
Read morePoorly managed establishment? Short on capital? Maybe both? I've had 3 bad experiences at this restaurant back to back to back. I have kept going back because the food is fairly decent IF you can get it. I did an online catering order last December that was a disaster - I went to pick it up at the designated time and it had been totally forgotten. I had to stand and wait for approximately 25 minutes while the staff rushed around to make everything johnny on the spot while making food for other patrons; I found out after leaving that I wound up being shorted on food. I was offered nothing but a "I'm sorry this happened" for the whole ordeal. It made me late to the venue which made several late getting back to work. Many months later in an attempt to let bygones be bygones I went back to this establishment to get a family pack fried chicken meal for myself and some friends- late afternoon around 5:30-6:00. After I place my order and drive around to the window and pay, I'm told "sorry, we don't have enough chicken to complete your order." My option was to wait approximately 20 minutes for more chicken to be made or take an extra side and biscuits. The manager came to the window that day and profusely apologized for the hassle and threw in 3 free desserts. So, last night I went back to try again. I placed my order for 2 3piece fried chicken meals...silence....then a voice comes over the speaker to tell me "I'm sorry we only have enough chicken for one of those meals". Again, if I wanted to wait 20 minutes they would have made more... I'm just completely at a loss on how a restaurant that specializes and prides itself on its fried chicken doesn't have more than 3-4 pieces made at a time? In closing the food is relatively decent for fast food. But, with my last three experiences I doubt I will ever return. Good luck to all others who visit this...
Read moreWent through the drive-thru. I was the only car in line. Placed my order, even repeated it twice. Get to the window, still the only one in line. The lady takes my money and has me pull to the white line, again I'm still the only car in line, but I pulled forward as she asked. The food comes out almost immediately. I'm thinking wow, this is good. Anyway, get my food (I should have checked the bag, but I mean I was the only car in line and figured they got it right. Drive all the way home and start u bagging our food and wouldn't you know they shorted me two of my items. If this had been the first time I would think hey it happens sometimes, but they literally short me something Everytime I go through the drive-thru. I called to get them to make note so I can come back at a later time and get my money back and get excuses about new employees, being short handed and whatnot. Gas is not free and having to make two round-trips everytime I order from the drive-thru gets costly not to mention just plain inconvenient. Excuses and apologies don't make up for time lost or gas consumed. No other offer was made by the manager that took my call other than she wanted to know if I was going to come back after the food. No ma'am I won't come back after it because by the time I made the trip, the food I had would be cold and I wanted my family to eat while it was fresh. Train your people right, then treat your people right and they will stay and do you a great job. Maybe then you won't have to make excuses for shotty service. As for me, this was the last straw. I won't be spending anymore of my money with Jack's of...
